Stock SN Superjet in the surf?

Ok i have decided im gonna try find a SN SJ. Got a few Q's.

What mods HAVE to be done to ride it in the surf.

What are some other mods that are not cruicial but would be nice that i could add later on?

Would a stock SN be any good for learning tricks in the surf?

Cheers :Banane09:

Stock is fine for surf. If air tricks are what you're going for, then footholds are important.
You don't really "need" all kinds of mods.
The problem is that you will "want" all kinds of mods!
Lots of info on the "X".

There is almost nothing you "need" to ride in the surf. Get out there and start having fun.
The more experienced you get and the more tricks you want to do, the more you will have to modify.

Good starters are:
Bilge pump
intake grate
prop
bars
footholds(my preference but some just used windsurfer straps)

When you get a little more cash spring for a Factory B pipe.

Cheers guys.
So if I went out there with out a bilge won't it just fill with water eventually?
Will a stock motor be ok for aerial tricks ?

It's smart to have an aux bilge. The stocker works well as long as you're running. If you get rolled & seperated from the ski the aux bilge can be a boat saver.

Stock motor can do just about anything "with the right wave".
Ride it, decide from there what you want to improve.

The ski should not fill with water unless you're submerging it.

hood straps to keep the hood from popping off

Yeah, straps are very cheap to make yourself and are a good insurance policy.
I would say a bilge pump is almost a must for a beginner. An experienced rider can get away without one, but if you are a newbie you will find yourself getting killed by a wave or two eventually.

So do you hook up the aux bilge to some kind of switch? Will I need a better battery?

Iv got a few other noobie questions.
What will a better intake grate do?

You rip out the stock hood liner, that white bit with the 2 black hoses on the underside of your hood. You glass over the top air intakes and the 3 holes in the front, make a new liner and drill some new air intake holes in the back of the hood.
Cut's the amount of water that dumps into the bilge on SN's by a ton.
