Dont know much about this but what about infa red or thermal images from your chopper ride? May show something if you cant visibly see it.

What is a thermal image going to show? The ski is at the same temperature as the water.

It wasn't removed...just never put in. There is also no firewall to the back of the ski. I guess for weight and so it won't get waterlogged....This was a Highroller ski, so maybe it was never finished? who knows...

I'll only put in styrofoam or pingpong balls if I have to ever refoam.

So we can run versa plug or drains in hull to keep hulls light as possible for every ride.

So 10lbs of foam makes the difference between landing that flatwater backy or a 3/4 attempt? Doesn't seem worth it to me, especially since the prize is just bragging rights. Not hating here, just trying to understand, there only should have been 1 "sunk ski due to no foam thread" This is like the 4th one.

If humans learned from others past mistakes ,the world would not be the way it is ..... complete education takes a lifetime and then its too late to do anything with it . .......... from what Ive seen so far...

FYI for everyone on here. I touched on this a little on my sunk ski thread, but this one seems to have more attention so I will explain it here. The past year and a half, I have been diligently working on finding a solution to sinking skis. So I have come up with several ideas and designs and have tested them all. I currently have a patent submitted that covers them. I am in the prototype stage as of right now, and I am meeting with several design/prototype firms to get several legit products made so I can have beta testers to test out my product. A little insight on the products is, one is a manual system, that is deployed when you know your in trouble. While the other is 100% automatic and brings your ski just below the surface and allows you to hold onto something, and stay with your vehicle until help arrives. These systems will protect your investment, no insurance needed, if you can even get it. Just a one time deal, and you will never have to go through what I went through, what Tanner went through and what Zach is going through now. I have several business competitions I will be attending, along with a KickStarter Program, to raise money, to produce my product and get it out to you guys. I will keep you guys updated, and I just want to let everyone know I am working very hard to get this done ASAP, so this can stop happening!

Possibly not, the black paint job may soak up more heat during a sunny day? Not looking for argument just trying to help.

Think about this. It is surrounded by masses of cold water. And even if it were 100 degrees hotter, a few feet of water will block any and all infrared radiating from it

I forgot!
I just hope his scuba divers can find it to see if a ski does move around on the bottom of Lake Erie. Many conditions can swamp a ski and I try and take as many precautions to prevent my ski from going down. I think my ski is a sinker even with my foam. I don't want to test this in Lake Erie on a pumping wave day though. This thread is so exciting! Find that ski zack.
