Footholds are great, pm Lucas about how to turf them... Or it's an option to have the ski turfed by Tem ( which translates to turf by Lucas )

Once you kick in your locked... Everyone that rides our skis says man I love the footholds...

The rev should be sold soon, same with my fx1. So if the rev doesn't sell with the pole, I'm trying to get a -2" xmetal pole an I'll try them an decide I guess. Is -4.8" seem about right, the rev is -3". Also how are the holds? I HATE the enclosures on my rev, but love the wamilton rickter holds on my fx1.

Also I don't plan on painting the ski, I can get it wrapped with whatever color, graphics I want for 250 installed. Any feedback on wraps?

well i'm glad you've seen the light and understand how light and fantastic these ski's are. you should bump my pwc thread when you get yours in....

I loved the footholds too until I broke my foot a week and a half ago. I did a flat water roll and actually stuck the landing half way decent(for me), but upon the landing somehow my weight shifted forward and I felt a pop. I have 5 more weeks to go on crutches and can't put any weight on it. Not sure what this is going to do for the fall riding season and my annual Pismo trip.

The funny thing is that I have been meaning to re-pad my holds. When I initially turfed them I only used 8mm on the top. After my first ride I realized I should have done 25mm. That would have given the holds a little more give.

I would definitely say go -4.3 if all you do is flat water. No questions asked.

So -4.3 is the way to go on a strictly flat water boat? Def ordering one come Monday an just wanna get everything set for my order. 800+ seems steep for turfing IMO so what's the trick to turfing these so they're comfortable an safe? Anyone running an xmetal pole on one?

X- metal adjustable pole with Rrp riser bars is te only way to go, go as short as you can! You can always put on a longer rideplate! I'd go -5 or more on the hull if it were only a flatwater hull, I wish I had gone shorter with mine and I am riding wide open in the bay chasing down boats. If you want to flatwater flip, put the battery in the rear of the engine compartment. Don't be afraid to go short! I know of 3 people who wish they went shorter with ours!

With straight bars, a minus 2 x-metal turnplate and my same x-metal adjustable pole, I was at -9 from stock. The freak mounts your pole way forward, my back was f'ing killing me, I got the 75mm Rrp riser bars and kicked em back, now I'm about -4.5- -5 depending on the angle I run the bars and I can ride all day! Go 25 mm pad all around and in the footholds, you will thank me later! There are no better footholds around, but they are very tough to turf!

If you need any other help or advice just ask, I learned the hard way with buying the wrong stuff, installing things wrong etc.. It takes a while to build this ski! But resist the urge to rush the build to ride it. I was very fortunate to have alot of help by very experienced ski builders and I built mine in a weekend working practically 24/7 but this is NOT the norm. You will love the end result but I can't stress enough, don't be afraid to go shorter! I regret not having the guts to go at least -4

I don't like to turf and Lucas is two hours away plus too busy to the turf, the price is there to discourage anyone from ordering it along with the paint. These skis are best suited for people that like to build there own stuff and are not nancys when it comes to rigging .
