I gotta do the same thing. I was thinking about just adding some cut out/contoured pieces of turf to fill some of the void on the tops of my footholds, rather than hack the nice turf that's layed up and secure.

QUOTE=tipafew;1130623]I think he actually has a 140mm mag.

I love the footholds. However, I screwed up and didn't put enough pad on the tops. Now I have to hack into my gorgeous turf job to add some more pad.[/QUOTE]

We are working on a surf foot well that"ll be 23" wide all the way back past the rear of the gunnel for you guys that like to have a dance party in the tray surf style . Yes It is a rip off of Bretts, Lucas, and Josh idea.

hhmmmm thats going to be interesting.. mine might already be that wide i will have to measure

K Boys here it is .... I'm in deep into the third trimester . Delivery date is second week in July ish . A couple of questions

1. intake grate ? I have a works 205

2. Prop selection Using an older 8 vane 144 mag with a Jetworks ADA 951 total loss B pipe bla bla bla ( Will consult the Mez as well just curious what your backyard findings are ) . Was told most are going up two sizes ?

3. Paint . I plan on using awlgrip Prime or not

4. Foot hold placement ..... I'm 5'7 short arms ( not T-rex short , but certainly can't tie my shoes with out bending over ) ..... ok average arms 17 / 32 dress shirt . I plan on using this ski for flat / freeride . Where do you put um . Idea is to put them a little further forward ( You can always build them / pad them further back .

5. Using a Bun pole any one put a spring on the Freak bracket ?

We are having better luck with the Jet Dynamics intake grate... Few have tried the worx but said the ski wasn't hooking up, Few locals got big brap under the hood running JD...

Prop, if your taking that package out of the oem RN.... Go up atleast one size, What prop are you running now?

Footholds, Tem installed the first one a little forward already.. I like mine right where there at, depending on how I kick in I can move 1-3 in front to back... I like when I kickin fwd, it really helps the ski to rotate nice & slow & smooth.

Good luck!

I am running a Worx 201 and I have no hookup problems as far as I can tell - but I am not running a liter motor, either.

Just say yes to Awlgrip 545 epoxy primer .

Would you put any of that flexible bumper paint stuff in the top coat for primer.

Josh is far ad prop size prop size ill have to ask the Mez . I can't remember what he did it was 2 years ago. It did come out of a stock boat. I think ill run what I have and adjust it after some RPM numbers.

Don't bother installing what your running in the RN.... Your dropping at least 50 lbs, you gotta go up one size...

We have been to this movie.....trust us, pulling the pump isn't the job I enjoy on my freak!

I have had no hookup problems with my Worx 201. I did shim the front down about 1/4 inch.

I used the awl grip per Tem's suggestion. Seemed fairly easy to work with.

I am running a pole spring with my X metal pole. I posted a few pics on my build thread. It wasn't terribly hard to do. The only thing I would do different is drill the hole in the hull a little closer to the front of the ski. I ended up bending my blowsion spring to decrease tension.

I'm moved by DASA power!
Worx 201 for me but you definitely need to shim it down to actually be able to grab water, my paint isn't holding up too well, so I'm going to get it re-painted this winter. I didn't give it the proper time to cure, as I was riding it 12 days after Josh started priming the ski for paint. I love the color and will stick with it , but I am definitely going to add some flex to the future paint job, I'm also going to put the thick vinyl paint protector sheets designed for protecting hoods from rocks on the bottom of the ski as mine is pretty scuffed up from beaching it already. I am certain that you are going to love what this ski will do, I would definitely recommend getting some inserts and installing them in the battery tray, or use a lightweight battery. I'm working on a solution to the issue of running a big battery in that spot right now

I didn't read 17 pages, but was gonna order a freak today but Tem is on vacation til the 23rd. Going full carbon an thinking -4.8"? Any ideas? Dropping a Jetworks 5 mil bigbore stroker in it, msd total loss, 140 mag with a prop art pitched for me. Was gonna shoot for around 60lbs as it will only be a flatwater boat, no saltwater for me. Who's got some info? Thanks

Sounds almost exactly like mine, but with a bit more power. You'll like it.
I'm considering putting riser bars on mine.

Your no help here, your constant texts about how great it is, is why I'm buying one! You owe me a few grand Matt.lol Another question is pole length, my wdk pole is 31" from pole bolt to bars an it kills my back, guessing it will be even worse on a freak as the pole bracket appears to be further forward.

That pole ain't gonna work for you.
I think mine is 38" or 39" from pole bolt to steering plate bolt. I think it would be considered a -1 or -2 in SJ terms.

Save your money, I used the 3m brand. The water pulled pieces off little by little. I had the majority of the bottom of my ski covered, now about 10% is left. I would just paint the botom like white or black which could easily be spray bombed to match.

The rev should be sold soon, same with my fx1. So if the rev doesn't sell with the pole, I'm trying to get a -2" xmetal pole an I'll try them an decide I guess. Is -4.8" seem about right, the rev is -3". Also how are the holds? I HATE the enclosures on my rev, but love the wamilton rickter holds on my fx1.

Also I don't plan on painting the ski, I can get it wrapped with whatever color, graphics I want for 250 installed. Any feedback on wraps?
