What pole? On the carbon pole that Tem built for me, I drilled a hole near the steering stop, into the bottom of the pole. I fed the limiting rope through it and tied a knot. Burned the knot a little to make sure it doesn't come undone.

Yea,guess that would have been helpful to have said which pole l was referring too Matt!

Here's a couple pics for a limit strap mounting option. Pics are in no particular order again ha!

That looks like the best option Jay Thanks

I know of one more I have been talking to that has one on order also!

Spill the beans..............

So much for a water test for a few weeks.:17: l have the Solas pump problem that others are having where the driveshaft is too long.l understand that someone is working on a shorter shaft.l think that is the best solution overall.

Otherwise l am done with the build.l'll post up some pics this weekend on the tenn/georgia build thread.

Damn, you must have set your bulkhead distance up nice and tight for maximum spline engagement huh? The Solas does not work with that setup as we are finding out... sorry to hear that. It definitely set me back on getting mine together too. :crying:

I'm working on an extra-thick midshaft spacer with a shorter midshaft (FX-1) to allow me to use any pump.

yes there are glass freaks out there, i have been building one for a few weeks now, there are 2 in virginia. If you wanna see them you better get to wavedaze, I know mine will be done and im sure the other one will be close to being finished. Ill post some pics soon.

This seems really odd to me that you are that far off that you need to change that many things.

I installed my Solas Mag last weekend. Pressed the bearings in and put in a stock SJ driveshaft and it all seems golden. Rode it last weekend for the first time and it was great. No leaks, no issues with spacing that I'm aware of, etc.

Any rate, sorry you're having such a tough time, but from the other side of the spectrum I was able to just bolt mine in and go. I didn't even remove the wear ring since I spent so much time setting the pump up last time, just removed the rear section and stuffed the new one in, what was really nice is I didn't need to grind the top of the solas pump like the stocker. I pulled the midshaft and rebuilt it while I was at it. My first impressions were the bottom end and mid range were much better. The pull in a chop is incredible. I was chasing down some boats it just sat down and went, love it!

Its not odd at all. I hear that some other freak and matrix owners have had similar problems. Mine is the worst because it was one of the first badasses that Tem built. He had the bulkhead on mine a little further back than the current ones.

No worries now though, I've got it solved and installed.
