This is a post for Superfreak V 2.0. The newest version has the pole mount in what feels to me to be the best place that balances out the ski perfectly. The ones I rode at Daytona were super stable on flatwater. On my build I centered my pole bracket in the dead center of the area you can place a bracket. I was thinking of drilling the bracket area out in the farthest forward position to see if it helps place my CG with the ski's CG. You can get the back end loose real easy with my current setup. My apprehension is that placing the pole further forward will make the tail too easy to get loose. I'm running a -5 xmetal pole with a standard UMI turn plate. Might be too much with that length pole. The bracket area is atleast 3/8" thick...maybe 1/2" so I don't think the hull integrity will be hurt.
Chris, Lucas, and Tem...how far forward did you guys run your pole brackets?

Mine is Superfreak V 1.0, but front pole bracket area is the same and I think that mine is 4" forward. Superfreak V 3.0 is 5" forward I think. Go for it, forward is good, but just remember to think about the nosepiece height/clearance in the area where you want to mount. Tem moved his bracket forward on one of his personal hulls.

I thought Mcdog's freak is v 1.0 or 1.5 and yours was 2.0 with mine being the same or 2.5 and the newest would be 3.0.

I'm so confused on the version numbering now that I just removed it from my thread title. Tem will have to chime in on this one to set it straight.

LOL, it seems that every superfreak is unique and different, that is part of their appeal to me. Handmade not factory assembly line produced. I don't know about the version numbering, if there is one. I was just following gregg's lead. I would consider McDogs V 0.5 because it was made before I met Tem. I consider mine 1.0 because it was the first hull made after Tem and I met. He starting riding and started superfreak then.

I really can't wait, I got my paint guy lined up. most of the parts are here, one or 2 more odds and ends to get. My turf looks sick! I can't to get started! Is the new ride plate good to go Tem? I know it was still in development when last I talked to you. If so I want to get one!

I was thinking the hulls made for x-metal were 1.0 but since they were not called Superfreaks it makes since for them not to count.

Has anyone installed a stock tank in one of these hulls yet? I run a sectioned Raider chamber that wraps around the front of the engine and I'm wondering if there will be enough room to continue to run this pipe or if I'll need to go to the SJ chamber. I measured and I need about 2" from the front of the flywheel cover to the tank, or about 4" from the front of the case to the tank. If anyone has a picture or is mocked up and could measure I would appreciate it.

I should have the hull in 2 weeks. If I have time before painting, I will mock things up to see how they fit.

Well, my hull should either have shipped this past Friday, or it will ship Monday or Tuesday.
I'd really like to do a mockup of parts before painting. That way I can concentrate on just installing parts instead of fitting them, when it's done being painted & turfed.

I am soo jealous! I wish mine was on the way already! I got an awful lot done on my pile of parts this weekend though, worked a good bit with my buddy on his ROK build too. Quite the productive midwinter ski wrenching weekend.

I got word from Tem: my freak is sitting at the shipping terminal and should arrive at the Blowsion shop early next week. I won't make it over there until Friday after next, though. :(

Wooooot wooooooot! So cool.
If you don't have time to go get it, you could just ship it to Michigan and I would be happy to start working on it for you.

Thanks guys. I'm stoked.
I don't know when I'll have time to work on it, but I'll figure it out.
