I'm covering the entire hood with carbon/kevlar. <<<---possibility actually!
That is a good idea :scratchchin:. Solves your paint scheme problems and reinforces the set up all in one shot

Reinforcing the WCF footholds per Steve's recommendation. Personally I don't think the customer should have to do this, they should be strong enough already, but after my previous experience I'll do it.
somehow, I doubt he meant to reinforce before installing them.
you shouldn't have to...but it is reccommendedYes.
Before anyone asks, no, I didn't reinforce the footholds, I shouldn't have to. My old 24/7 footholds were still strong as hell when I took them out to put these in after 4 seasons.
sorry if this is off topic but I took it to mean to add glass to the outside of the holds as part of the install, while you are glassing in the holds.Yes, he does recommend it.

I dunno, maybe I'm wrong.
That is exactly what he meant based on that thread, that he recommends and tells all his customers to reinforce the footholds prior to installing them.
One of mine broke wide open, it won't happen on these new ones.
Planning on foaming?
I'm sure that will help out greatly with an issue such as this.

Whaat?? I think wavedemon is correct on this one. I do tell all my customers to re-inforce the tray across into the "inside" of the footholds ...not outside!
:twak:
Ok, how about this, after having one break, I'm not taking chances. They're reinforced and I'm happy with how thick/strong they are now.
If only x-metal would start making their's like Jetcraft's with a spiral louvered core, they'd actually be quiet and still lightweight and sound awesome.

NOW they are ok. I have see pringles thicker than those footholds. I would probably add anouther layer just for grins
