If I recall correctly, wasn't the steering relocation due to using a trim set-up?

Any other benefits beside that?

Just to clear the pump correctly. I had a rub on the cooling boss on the right side, you can see where the steering cable is shiny from bumping it. I also get a slight turn to the side when I pull the trim due to having to space the cable downward, this will get rid of that as well.

It's not a huge deal, but since i have it apart, might as well do it right?

Ok, how about this, after having one break, I'm not taking chances. They're reinforced and I'm happy with how thick/strong they are now.

screw reinforcing them from the tray... you did it the way it SHOULD have been done (or IMO should have come) i might have maybe put some 17oz biax on there personally for some reassurance.. your other ones were pretty bad

you are about to embark on the endless sanding mission, good luck. Looking good, nothings better than riding a ski that you built.

If it works, it's good in my book, I don't worry too much about looks. :headbang:

I'm excited to get my top deck and really get rocking on this thing. I can also see how a lot of people would be overwhelmed doing a project like this as there is so much to think about/do, but keeping it broken up into small items makes it much easier to handle.

The only thing I'm worried about is the bulkhead positioning/alignment. I should probably make a jig off my current hull before I hand it over to the new owner.

What's the problem with a lip? :dunno:

I ask because I haven't noticed one.
I was considering doing my hull at an angle but decided that I'd rather use the stock hull pieces to put everything back together.
Going at an angle would have meant way more work than I wanted - including redoing the exhaust.

Due to my :):):):)ty motor skills, I didn't ride much this season - so I really can't comment on the strength of that hull section.

I'll report back next year.

The Sea-doo ball check valve drain plugs came in (thanks crossr).

I'm planning on using 2 of these, maybe 4 instead of regular scuppers. They flow a surprising amount of water and if I get new ones, they have screw in drain plugs to block them off.

Nice! I like how you can close them off. That will be nice if you want to leave you boat tied up for longer than 5 minutes.

5 minutes? I've let my ski float for 20-30 before with the scupper with just a little water leaking in. These should be about the same, and honestly I can't remember the last time I let my ski float for a while unless it was like 2003 at Lake Cumberland.

More work grinding on things getting ready for glassing---was going to glass the steering relocation today but am out of latex gloves.

I also mocked up the exhaust some more and cut my test exhaust tube at an angle to see how it works. I need to cut it at a little more of an angle and the resonator is going to have to sit about 1" off the side of the hull when done to line up.

Are you not going to cut the rideplate area shorter as well? Why not just cut the whole rear area and redrill a ride plate to change the mounting locatons?
