cant really do that when your strapped in. not many people can ride switch easily enough to do that. imo its easier to just stay same stance and hit it heelside or toeside.

yup...

i thought about peps with front hold would change...like slut has

... when i try to go left with left foot front i always get the nose up like Havel picture slut posted

i think you are right about keep same stance

people are afraid of going nose in on re-entry's so they lean back and end up w/ nose high yuckiness...

your waist should be hitting the bars or right there and knees should be bent. weight forward is everything.... remember to compress your body and pull the ski up to you also...

I think its also important to keep your ski on a rail with your weight inside the wave on take off & landing. When landing weight forward & your ski bottom flat you'll find the bottom quick. I can land good size airs nose down in little or no water.

I use to switch stance a lot and use to ride left foot forward all the time... It has taken me a while to get goofy stance down, but after riding like this, it actually feels natural... I can do re-entrys both directions either stance, but goofy backside is my favorite...

I have always been goofy footed, but for some reason when I first started to ride standups I put my left foot forward and it felt right... (I have no idea why) Another thing... I was not privy to all this surf stance stuff, we were just dorks (surf sluts) riding around in our footholds all the time, hell we just didn't know any better at the time and no one I knew or rode w/ had surf style. Everyone was doing 500 barrel rolls a day and me and dre were flipping too, but that's it... I would surf every once in a while.. Now I surf around about 70% of the time...

Anyway, I stared surfing the waves more and trying re-entrys cause my riding bud Ted did and it looked like a lot of fun. I watched him cause he use to surf all around the country and Central America (I figured he knew what was up)... (ding ding) the light comes on...

You just need to develope a style that works for you... keep changing things up if you are not happy...

Regular or goofy...it's all good. Just try to transition and land forward and neutral (after all the body English action during takeoff and airtime). It helps when landing in the thick whitewater to keep things upright. The pump doesn't work well in the foam. Another reason to have the nose down attitude and landing on the forward part of the foam....Keeps you moving forward so the pump can start to work.

speed will give you more pop and throw you ahead of the wave. you cant give a last second brap to push you ahead of the wave its all in the approach speed.
taylor curtis with the sickest ive ever seen.

actually if you watch taylor he barley has any speed before he takes off..he just cruises slowly to the lip waits for it to throw then blips it...thats pretty much the opposite of what i do but when you go fast its harder to time it perfect..ive been trying to slow down my riding alot lately and it helps for sure

heres my contribution to this thread.

i like this sequence cause it 's complete. even got the landing. i just need to get more amplitude. the fear of smashing the nose severely inhibits my progress. i wish these waves broke like that in 8 feet of water.
