what was wrong with a stock tank?
that hiccup seems self inflicted. I think you are a masochist at this point. You should be making life easier and riding instead of custom making aluminum tanks lol.
But seriously, Yes, you have a point. Here's the deal. I have poop for luck.... I'm always taking the tank out of my ski to fix this or adjust that or whatever. The larger Limited chamber makes it a royal PITA to get out. The stock tank i'm using has a air leak. I've been told by a local racing (legend?) who owns a ski shop that an air leak in your fuel system is simply not acceptable.
I could have bought a stock tank or and
new stock tank, but I thought this would be a good choice. Slightly smaller, well made, blah blah blah. Then I got it home, figured out there are some fitment issues. At that time I pretty much said to myself what you posted.... so.... thanks.....
I dont see the need for internal fuel fill either unless you are doing hood tricks. It seems like just one more thing to fail.
Well... If you look at my old tank. (The white-ish yellow one, on the left......
) You'll notice that it, in fact has internal fill. Same style of fill i've been running since the fancy white FX1 monstroisity. Never had an issue until I put all the internal fill parts into a used tank that someone loaned me in a pinch.
ALSO... look at the fittings on the new tank. Pretty legit. I'll admit my DIY internal fill was suspect, but this new tank should defintely take that issue out of the equasion.
And.................................................... I do hood tricks... now what?
