its not that hard to take your pole and bend it over the front of the nose to cause some sort of damage. This is why you either set your pole unbelievably tight for flatwater or run a limiting rope

These hulls are extremly strong and light.... Robin having the gel fail is my fault... there is No structure damage...but we will send Robin a new Hull and I'll beat that.one myself!!!!

Yes it's not his fault the Hull should not of done that, limit rope or not... I suggest a limit rope on all our hulls because over extending the pole is really hard on the gel and with How light we are making them ....and for sure with Kevlar because the Kevlar flexes a lot more then the gel ...

I see, So just wondering what finish would stay most flexible? No gel coat, painted? Do you gel coat then paint all the Chans?

Edit, obviously not on the partial visual, is that resin on the outside or clear gel coat?

LOL I can see through your clever tricks sir... I have a text you sent right after you painted my hull saying that you were gonna keep the ski because you liked it so much.... Well played sir... well played...

there is a lot more to it then just that ... this problem will never happen again....it is solved and I'm sorry for robins inconvenience on my behalf

I keep checking this thread and see Chan owners "currently browsing this thread"... LOL... I bet his phone is awfully busy.

Given the well documented difficulties Steve and I had early on, this will be a great opportunity for us to 'start over' and I am thoroughly impressed with how willing he is to take care of this. This is definitely 'not normal' for a hull builder, especially with a PITA customer like me.

Jace Forest...BRAP!
I wouldn't even send it back man, not over a gel coat crack. Ride that sum bitch during the summer before it passes you by, then just do a little touch up over the winter. Hell i'd just throw a sticker over it and call it good, that's what I did with my BOB last year. People get too concerned about how their ski looks.

The ski shouldn't make the rider look good, the rider should make the ski look good

I didn't ask that he replace or repair it. He pretty much told me that he was going to replace it when I sent him photos.

And I will be riding it until a replacement arrives, so no down time I assure you. Ain't nobody got time for that.... LOL...
I'm having too much fun to be without a ski.

Easy to say if you're a good rider! I happen to suck... bad.... so I need all the help I can get LMAO...
