I got forwarded email information for this induction system. It is not around $ 1600.00 it is actually only $ 1550.00 This is what it comes with. A Boyesen intake manifold system, modified dual 46mm mikuni carbs, linkage, Air box risers and single OEM air boxes (2).
I guess I wasn't that far off.

Just wait till the 3 year update.
I'll give you a hint, short and uneventful.

This thing refuses to die and starts up first time every time.
I kind of wish it would give up so I could replace it with a bigger X-Scream motor but no luck.
It's all good though, just means that I'll build a whole new ski and keep old faithful as a back up.

Can't beat a complete package.

Got my ski fully together, and just like Boris I am blown away by how well this setup works. Bought XScream FULL PACKAGE (everything), and told them "I dont want to touch or think about anything". Truly a "drop in" and go setup...hell I did not even touch the carbs.... Past 2 weeks I have put about 30gallons through and so far I just have a huge smile on my face everytime I start it. No priming or anything, fires first blip of start button and pulls incredible for just a bigbore stock cylinder. Amazing service too during the build.

XScream :):):):)ING ROCKS!!

This is great to hear that these motors are built such way. 2 years with no problems for an aftermarket product is real good and I bet it will run for years to come. Still thinking about intakes for more or less this capacity engines. Right now I am expecting a 727cc package from my builder here in Poland. The guy knows his stuff as he raced 2 stroke boats for 25 years or so, but has no experiance with SJ's. He just look ad the cylinder, measured it, was stoked that oem cylinder looks that bad. The issue is: modded stock carbs (taper bored) or 1 big 48mm blackjack (sitting on the shelf) with ATP manifold? What will give best hit?

Between modded stock carbs or the 48 BJ I would vote for the single. Otherwise buy some good 44's or 46's and get a dual intake. That would be my first choice.

Yep, I have about 2 1/2 years on my "baby" scream. Just rode a bunch of big motor boats this past weekend and walked away pretty happy and impressed with what I have now.

This was along my way of thinking, maybe somebody is actually using similar setup? This is quite important as I would like to save a few bucks (not few really) and not buy the single manifold if the hit from single is not so strong...

Polish,
I would go with a dual 44 or 46 set up if you have the choice. If you go 44's just make sure they are Mikuni 44's not OEM yamaha mikuni's. I am running some pro tec 44's I picked up cheap and they run quite a bit better than the modified 38's I was running.

Sorry but I am a bit confused.
Do you send your stock 701 engine to Xmetal and they do a rebuild or are these complete packages? The reason I asked is because I did not read on your threads if you sent your engines or not....

This is from their website:

771cc XScream Engine Short Block

Product Description:
Our 85mm Big bore is where the real fun begins. We transform your OEM 61x cylinder from an ordinary 701cc into a 771cc arm yanker. Utilizing the stock crank means this is about as low maintenance as you can get. Great for surf and amateur class legal boats. This was the package of choice for team rider Micheal Ratti to compete with in the '06 & '07 full seasons. (Requires Boyesen RAD Valve intake or Riva reed spacer) Also available as top end kit.

I sent them cylinder and cases to use, just make sure your donor parts are mint.
When ppl say "full package" it means your entire boat is setup exactly how your builder recommends. They setup your intake, factory pipe, tell you what timing/elect, and pump/prop/grate setup to run...ect. You should only be thinking about how you want your boat to look, and handle. All drivetrain decisions should have been made for you. That is the real advantage of going with any great builder. You are running a PROVEN package/setup. This goes with any good builder, Jetworks, Watcon, Groupk, XS, Kommander, Wammer... whomever you choose.....you are trusting them with thousands of your dollars on a build.. Dont go out and piece together your own carb setup, or put some random exhaust or prop on.

Amen to that.
Lots of people seem to like spending big bucks with a builder and then go second-guess that builder by throwing different components on the setup.

Boris' motor is not even a big bore, yet it rips hard. I started to pursue a simple ported 701, then migrated to the big bore package but finally "settled" on the SS865.

XScream can work with your existing parts or supply them. The nice thing is, they have something to fit everyone's budget.

Best thing to do (I did) is to keep an eye out for spare parts (cases, crank, cylinder) and buy them as you can. Ship them to XS and have them build you a monster. That way you are still riding and you can sell your old motor as a short block or keep it as a backup.

Yeah, I pretty much did EVERYTHING Chuckie told me except originally I was running his modified stock 38's. I switched the carbs later but jetted them to his suggestion and they were spot on.

That always cracked me up.
Pay a builder for his work, years of knowledge and hundreds of hours of R&D and than decide that you know better.
Got to love it.

X-SCREAM will build it the way you want it. Send in what parts you have or have them get the parts.
Right now I am gathering parts for my next motor and once I have what I need off to Chucky it goes. No need to stop riding when cases and cylinders are all over the place.
My little 717 rips like a little raped sock monkey but as with all toys, after a while you want more. The SS865 is next and I'm sure it will be as reliable as any other package to come out of X-SCREAM. Keeping the 717 though, I want to see how long this little mother lives plus I need something that is quite happy to stay at WOT all day long when I play in the mangroves.
I love my 717.

Def cant go wrong with Xscream, they are the true one stop shop

I have been running a big bore 771 for 2 1/2 years now and she starts right up every time and rips like no other. I also did the complete package, 46's/intake/port work (cylinder & cases)/bpipe mods etc...

to be honest, best thing I ever did... I havent wrenched on my ski in years, I changed the plugs a few times but only b/c I felt I should be doing something lol

thanks again xscream for keeping me happy and on the water! :fing02:

Holly Hell. 3 years flew right by.

Took my ski for a little spin after work today, it was sitting for 3 weeks and the lake looked so inviting. My work shoes were a bit dusty and the shirt had some wrinkles.
All great excuses, right ?!?
So, I hit the little green button, the motor fired right up and I went riding work clothes and all.
Drama, who needs it ?

Seriously, another year on and the little battler just refuses to quit. No matter what I do to the motor it just shrugs it off and keeps on ticking. No tweaking or wrenching just gas it up and go.
My hull is absolute garbage with patches and quick fixes all over the place but hey, it's a square.

I know it's boring by now but thank you Chucky and the whole XScream crew.
3 years of not worrying weather the ski will be up for a ride or weather the motor will work. Priceless.
