FX-1 Thanks uncle bob! Fx1 time

So I've gone a little without an update but I wanted to share some stuff, my fx1 has been a total beast for me. I love it and I feel like it's way better for throwing stabs with and any other freestyle. And I want to also say that even though my motor is all stock single carb 701 it hauls butt and you cannot beat the feeling the fx1 gives you holding on at WOT haha! I ended up putting on my tau ceti flame arrestor and really I noticed nothing at all. It still ripped super nice. If anything it definitely made it lose any sort lag when you hit the throttle, not once did it even consider trying to big down before full acceleration, but it rode pretty good before so it's not night and day feeling at all or even close. But I have pics to share from the last rides.

Pics and ill try to get a video of how crisp it sounds. Unfortunately after my last ride at saguaro it ran super perfect and then I cleared the water out of the ski and it then would want to bog heavily if I pulled the throttle all the way (normally it would snap up to the revs) and then if I played with the throttle it would rev up okay. So ill have I check it tomorrow but I feel like it needs new plugs for sure. It's been a while and a good few hard runs on a pretty fresh motor.

Here is the link to the videos I have. One is of my girlfriend starting up the ski. Everytime she goes with she insists on firing my ski up. Doesn't mess with the other two skis haha.

And then this video is wake chase and sorry it was filmed with a iPhone so heads up for those of you who want to spare your eyes haha!

Flame arrestor will not give you anything more ...just looks cool :). I am getting in my lightweight flywheel soon ...we'll see if that improves the bottom of my square. I have to admit I was impressed with stabs you were throwing on my ski after only 3 minutes of riding it. Made me jealous for sure :).

If you need a guy to rebuild your crank other than Crankworks, you should hit up Patch Motors (@Moto360). He is a stand up guy and knows exactly what he is doing. Shipping a crank is also pretty cheap because you can fit it in one of those longer, and flatter medium flat rate boxes from USPS.

already got a used crank from Amitchell. and i got my motor work done by Steve at Aps wich turned out great. $225 wasnt too bad to get it done locally. just a bore and hone plus opening up the cases to accept the 760 cylinder. brad you did an awesome job on the bronco. ill give it a ride report haha! definitely wants to stab and definitely still rides stable. your motor is also what gives my motor hope because you have 61x bottom end on 62t topend. single carb is the way to go haha plenty of air and fuel for the smaller motors we are running. its no 900cc stroker haha.

Robert...it could be one heck of a motor if you are willing to go just a tad further. You need to have your head worked unless you have a 760 head. If you are up for another $100...you can have the motor that I really am working towards.

Have your cases decked by .20 and run without a base gasket...use 1211. Than have your head adjusted to allow for .40 squish or higher. This brings the exhaust ports to the 701 height. Which...is exactly what ppl pay $400 or more for with a big bore cylinder. Do the port work yourself and you have yourself a Big bore for very little.

I'm getting a kimmander head with domes for 185cc. I had it bored up to 84.5mm and my 61cases now clear the sleeves perfect so with that said which direction should I go. I was thinking lightened flywheel.

Well if you are getting a head ith domes that is even better. You can have your cases milled and your domes adjusted. I would send them off to Nuklear here on the X. He knows exactly how to make this all work. And its pretty inexpensive. He has a bunch of threads on it...do a little searching and you'll see what I am talking about. I wish I could do the same but I had to deck the top of my cylinder. Which means I'd have to get a new head and domes cut and I am just not willing to spend the cash on it right now. Lightened flywheel is good too but this will really make the motor hit hard. I am at 85 mm btw.

Haha they are your 84.5s buddy haha I think that's what j told me. But your motor is about as much as I feel like I need in a motor to get rolls off. Even though you said the bronco wasn't perfectly tuned that thing hits hard mid throttle. It was comfortable for me cause I like to be going decently fast into my tricks. Once it warms up to AZ standard and the lakes are hot tubs I'm going to be trying rolls till my ski can't roll no more.

Yes mine does hit hard in the midrange. I am looking for more bottom as I prefer to go a little slower into tricks (perpahs my problem). You'll have plenty of motor than. But keep in mind I am running an MSD, 190 psi, 46 mm carb, Factory pipe, bored nozzle, stubby cone, hooker prop, flow control valve, and a few other goodies. My lightened flywheel will be in here tommorow.

Yes will be soon new rings, wrist pin bearings, and whole gasket kit, then motor will go back together. Haha don't get me wrong I dream of b pipes and a new prop for my ski but I just don't have the kind of funds but those parts aren't going to stop me from trying to progress. I started on a 650 and had alot of fun. The 701 is definitely a beast and I love it. The 760 is going to take alittle time to finish but I will get it done right the first time. I just want it to warm up so I can try and huck a few attempts and get comfortable. I think the 701 is enough motor if I use all of the motor. I do think putting tubbies on the fx is going to be a huge improvement and those are high up on my parts list. And eventually I want to find a 46 also, I've been looking haha no dice!

The 760 really won't get you anymore motor than the 701 without moving the ports down. It will give you better mid range if that is what you are looking for. I have seen guys do some incredible stuff on a 701. Question with your style on stabs. Do you focus on dipping the shoulder closest to the water. I notice you go into the water more on an angle than J and I. Not really throwing the rear of the boat up but more turning the nose and boat sideways into the water. You were doing them off baby waves...where as he and i need a pretty good size wake to throw one.

Well I saw you and Brad in the same thread, what else am I going to do? I have nothing useful to post.

Back on track, wish I was still in AZ with you guys
