Holey moley - I'm so glad that this part is over. The next time I sign up for a race like that it damn well be a marathon or something. I ran a bit low on carbosil which kind of sucked and all I had laying around to thicken was glass bubbles, so in about 10 percent of the areas there is some glass bubble mix. I think over all though it will hold really well. Here's the lead up and the big clamp down. My girlfriend was awesome enough to help me out - we spent some real quality BONDING time together ;).

Should have hit me up man, I had a whole tub of cabisol! I could have gave you some.

Its so hard to judge with cabolsil how much you'll need. To be honest I am a little worried about it being weak in the areas where there was some higher mixes of bubbles instead of cabosil. It was thick like peanut butter but not very tacky, meaning I'm not sure how secure the bond is in those areas. Might do some reinforcing to keep it safe.

What do you guys think about this idea for bonding party. Use flat bars to disperse the pressure evenly with the clamps ? Because hulls with painted rails as opposed to turf you can actually see where the clamps were used and not used.

Did you lay carbon on the inside across the bond line during this process?

Ha. You think I'd still be alive if I tried to snap a show of her in her laundry day garb?

Which areas was no cabosil used?
All these spots.

I put 12 oz carbon tape in the back corners of the gunwales on both sides, but not through out the rest of the hull. These areas are primarily cabosil though, I just thought they could use a little extra support.

Great work on this hull. I can appreciate all of the attention to detail. What's the plan for paint/graphics?

Thanks dude! I turned 29 on Wednesday and today it feels like my wrists are 80 years old after all that sanding.

I got in contact with the photographer that Canon used for their Pixma printer ads a few years back and paid him for some ultra-high res images from his shoot. I'm going to vinyl wrap after a paint job in black or dark purple. http://theinspirationroom.com/daily/2010/canon-pixma-colour-sound-sculptures/

This is the idea.

No kidding man... I know the feeling, I've been putting in 14 hour days twice a week on my build. After the second day of sanding and glass work each week my wrists and back are shot. I practically need a chiropractor just to walk again.

I'm liking those graphics. I loved the paint splatter circus that tem took to finals.

That boat was sick! I hadn't seen that thing ride until that video that posted up a day or two ago. Crazy looks and power on that boat.

Where's you build thread??? Post a link.

I think you will be fine with the balloons mixed in in a few areas. Wouldn't have hurt to put a little black dye in with it and layer a little carbon across the bondline, but many freaks are like yours with no issues after lots of abuse.

Yeah dude I know! I totally dropped the ball with that. It didn't cross my mind till I stepped back and saw the contrasted white against all that pretty carbon. I still might put in some tape on the bond line... more sanding, lovely
