Isn't that truck almost brand new?

It’s a 2014 so and has just over 120k on it. I wanted to bag another truck and build a hot rod. Just another toy. I actually have the exact same truck with the same mileage just 4wd and didn’t want to mess with my daily. I was actually looking for a single cab but people want stupid money for them. I got this for 8 to 10k cheeper than a single cab 5.3 of the same year. Lots more leftover money for activities

My project manager called me on Monday, apologized for the short notice and asked that rather than heading to Eatonton for Wednesday, if I could drive from Savannah to Atlanta (PTC), on Tuesday night after work for a Wednesday meeting at head office and then be at our Eatonton division for Thursday instead.

I said no problem. All local rooms were booked so I had to book once city over. No big deal.

I had planned to work until 2-3pm and then make the 4hr drive but I ended up working till 8pm so I decided to cancel my hotel and drive in the morning.

So, I get up at 4am this morning, leave by 4:30 and am in PTC a few minutes after 8am. I stop in at Starbucks for coffee and breakfast and run into our big boss. He asks what I’m doing in PTC, the meeting is in Eatonton today at 10am.

Turns out my manager was talking about next week, and I’m 2 hrs away from where I’m supposed to be today.

So. I jumped back in the truck, made the 2 hr drive to Eatonton and managed to only miss about 20 minutes of our meeting.

The meeting was over in an hour and thirty five minutes and I was free to make the 3hr drive back home.

So, I put 578 miles on my truck today and spent over 9 hours behind the wheel. Plus I incurred at least one nights hotel charge as I had missed the cancellation window.

The only silver lining is that I actually really like driving and I get paid $0.58/mile.

First day of kindergarten and they have a code red lockdown.. Shooting at a gas station couple blocks away and the suspect was found behind the school.

Went riding yesterday after work, just messing around on the lake. Air temp about 85 water temp about 74. Took a couple breaks, sometimes just floating in the water, a couple times on my beach. Started to feel a little itchy on one spot on my upper abdomen/lower chest under my vest, but no big deal. Hopped on the ski one more time, played around a bit, and then rode home into my cove. Parked the ski, covered and locked it up, and walked to the house to hang up my vest. As I took the vest off and hung it, I touched the inside of it where it would have been in contact with my chest and stomach. It literally felt hot enough to fry an egg. So I touched it again to be sure I wasn't imagining it. But, yep, scorching hot. I then looked down at my chest and I am all beet red with some white blotches and my skin feels like it is on fire. Ran in the house, downed a couple Benadryl and jumped in a cold shower. Phucking crazy. Anyone else ever have this happen? Wondering if I'm allergic to some weird algae in the lake or something, but I just rode this past Saturday and I was fine, as were both my kids. Oh and any recommendations on a new vest? (I'll probably burn mine)

Couldn’t wait to get home tonight and start building my first ever complete PC build from scratch.

Anyone spot what’s missing?

Nope. One and done for 10 more years.

I did screw up and order the 970 EVO instead of the EVO Plus as I had intended.

The only other thing I didn’t get was the RTX2060. I don’t game so it would have been way more GPU than I would ever need so I opted for a reasonable GPU and doubled down on RAM.
