Just thought of another one, First time I pulled an SJ pump when I went to reinstall I forgot to put on the pump O-ring. Ski ran fine but it just wouldn't go anywhere
Oh I got another:
My ski broke down on the other side of the lake, so we we're gonna tow it back with the rope we always carry. Somehow the little nub that you push in to stop the start button from getting depressed got pushed in. So we spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it, eventually took the start/stop box on the handlepole apart and manually pushed it in. Didn't figure it out until 3 days later

About 5 years ago, I was pulling a motor out a 650, and couldn't figure out how to disconnect the stator wires, so I cut all of them with intent to just solder and reconnect.......Never ran right again.
2nd mistake = buying the 650

when i went to compete in australia i rented a ski from a known shop. we had to pull the motor because it had 2 broken motor mounts. were wrenching on it getting ready to pull it and the owner of the shop cuts the stator wires right in front of me..... my mind was blown. like..... why in the
would you do that.... i can understand a first time joe but this was a owner of a shop.... ski was a POS.Wait what? I did this exact thing three days ago. I was like, how the hell do I disconnect the wiring. I'll just cut it and resolder it. Haven't put it back together yet though...

I bought a stator once. Ended up having cut wires added a 5pin weatherpack connecter and never had an issue with it.even in salt

What the he'll is weather pack? My stator wires are cut At the moment. Don't kno if I should by a new stator or what. I had the deusch bag connector on there before and it went bad

Take 2 blown head gaskets, cut them in half and use the good cylinders holes from each gasket to make a refurbished good head gasket .
I used electrical tape for squiggly graphics on my 1st 550.
I used a lawn tractor battery in my 550 because its was hard to start and I would kill batteries.
I cant believe I'm admitting to this stuff!
