1. I started a fresh motor, was reving it up without the airfilters on and a chinpad screw I hadnt fully tightened dropped into the carb. Piston and dome head damage

2. taking carbs off and hit positive post with corner of carb, caught carbs and ski on fire. Luckily minimal damage

3. hooked up a msd enhanser wrong, backfired and blew the bpipe chamber off, ripping the new coupler.

funniest thing I saw someone else do (mossman) He just put his motor in and was either in such a hurry to get to lake or had some other influence, that he forgot to put gas tank in. He got suspious when his ski took a whole 5 gallon gas can. He lifted the hood and his motor was swimming in gasoline.

You forgot the main one > Promoting WDK products

Buying a Sxr and then spending countless years trying to make it a capable freestyle ski.............

Joining the x and realizing that I just wasted 3 years of my life . Fml

Using aluminum strips to reinforce my first ski(89 js550) bad idea.
Metal ad fiberglass don't work :)

No winch on the trailer
going alone on the waves . really a smart move ...
At the end the trailer doesn't stick on the ramp because the waves was bigger than before...
Ending beaching the ski and me on the concrete ramp and of course no winch on the trailer .. who needs one when your are tired ...

Mixing up stock bilge and one cooling line ... lucky me i was able to come back to ramp using electric pump.

painting the whole ski with top coat ... forever sanding and POS look ....
reuse the clamp you must not reuse ... of course the cooling line came off second time saved by my electric pump.

One cooling line on my 771 motor on hot wheather ... i've a 780 now ...
let my little brother open the electrical box of is ski when i was wrenching mine ... half killed MSD and a beautiful towing on the next ride ....

things i've seens on friends skis :
"duck beack" on a sxr attached on a buoy ending in sinking the ski , first ride after buying it.
using standart screew on saltwater ... protec manifold goes to garbage ...
full throttle run without checking the carbs screws ... epic stall in the middle of nowhere in a place we wasn't supposed to ride ...

Katie put a new stator in her ski while I was out of town. She called and said its making a weird noise when its running. I got home a few days later pulled the flywheel off and the key destroyed the flywheel and stator. The key fell out when she put the flywheel on. oops.

My very 1st ski 1984 it was a well used 440, I take it to our ride spot fire it up on the beach , it starts and revs to the moon, with lightning quick reflexes (I was younger than) I get the hood off and rip the spark plug caps clean off, didnt even get shocked

than stood there dumbfounded on how the ski was still running WFO

putting kennykeepers on my ski the last motor mount bolt was not breaking free, hit with pb blaster nothing...remember my shop teacher saying that you can unstick a bolt sometimes by tightening it a little bit.....SNAP!!!!Flush with the hull.....sinking feeling......out came the left hand bits and taps......SNAP!!!!....sinking feeling, cursing, yelling, throwing tools, beer, beer and a laughing neighbor....followed by the chissel, more drill bits and Helicoil.

if I resolder everything correctly and can get a water tight housing for it.

1. Most people don't know how to solder. They think they do, but they don't.
2. Water tight electrics in a jetski can be a bit.....difficult at times.

I tried not say anything but yes I am the guy that put his fuel filter in backwards. couugh cough choke choke, glad I went UP river for the fail.

Seen this one too:

Installing a yamaha flywheel and making sure its nice and tight only to realize the bendix is still sitting on the bench.
