Time Crunch World Finals Trixstar Build

Finally hit the water with it this morning for the first time. It's crazy how much different a hull rides with a big pump tunnel, aggressive scoop grate and 155 pump. I also moved the footholds a little ahead of where I placed them in the first hull. I don't know yet if that was a good idea or not, it feels like this ski rides soooo much different than my first, it's like riding a new ski. And to top it all off the E-tech motor is very, very strong. I didn't get to ride it too long, one of the cooling lines got plugged off from sand or whatever crap was floating in the water. Gonna fix that and hopefully do some more testing tonight.
Where are u going to be riding?

For 10 days to build it and drive it down I think it looked pretty good everything u build takes time to perfect so I say not bad keep up the good work

Hink, Thanks for the test ride. Motor was very snappy. The ride to me was very twitchy. Have you thought about cutting out the rear bond line where it turns down. It seams with most of the small hulls this is done. I am wondering if the turn down is effecting stability....... Keep in mind, I ride a Superjet. I just want to give you fair feedback on it. Yes. some of the edges were rough, but damn, you built this in just a few days. I can see the quality here. A little light sanding on the edges and this hull is incredible. I can easily see the potential here.

Thanks Kahuna, it definitely wouldn't hurt to try cutting out the bond line at the rear, I'll see what it does. Do you mean the entire width of the bond rail at the back or just at the corners like people are doing on their 08+ sj's?

the complete rear where it turns down 90 degrees. I think the water may be hitting it causing deflection. Which may be making the rocking motion. Hit up others that rode it also and ask them their thoughts.

That was a factory mod Polaris did on the Octanes for 2003-04. The 02 had the bond line all the way around the rear, and for 03-04 they cut it out in the rear corners so it didn't obstruct the water flow coming down the side of the hull. I did the same on my 02 and it made a very noticable and good difference. That lip tended to lift the rear. Ski turned better and the nose came up a little after that. But the bond line is still intact for the rest of the rear for pulling off the beach and such...

I'll cut it off and see what happens. Everyone that rode it (besides @Big Kahuna ) said they really liked it, but if trimming the bond rail at the back makes it handle even better that would be great. Thanks for the feedback, that's the kind of stuff I was hoping to get from having people demo it.

Keep in mind I am about as far on the opposite end of the spectrum of riding style. Both in hull size and motor size. Riders who are use to the 1000cc plus motor size would be more comfortable.

I remember telling you you're probably not going to like it before you even got on it. Maybe I should have used reverse psychology and told you that you would love it, lol. Maybe @hornedogg79 will chime in and say what he thought about it.

The bondline is angled 90' down. But if you see it from the side you can see the bondline on topdeck is rockered and on the bottom straight. So the bottomdeck hit the topdeck on the underside off the 90' on the rails........hope you understand what i mean????
