Lawyer talk is nice, but when you consider $100-200/hour, it's going to be a long expensive road to recoup $500 or $3000 or even $30,000 for several people spread out across the US/internationally.

A plane ticket and everyone meeting at his shop at once would yield better results IMO.

Lol, i've fluffed myself a few times before some heavy action ya know. This is our sport kahuna. Y'all run it well but this is a big wave here not a ripple effect. Do what you can do. It will reflect well

I've noticed when victims file complaints and contact Investigative reporters obscure cases get the attention they need and the situation is brought to light

Edit: if he's working on motorcycles he's required to have a ARD license "automotive repair dealer" so a complaint can be filed with the department of consumer affairs, if he's working and unlicensed a complaint can still be filed for unlicensed activity.... I see a separate complaint resource link here as well but have not checked it out....... DCA has a lot of power

As far as the Fluffer comment. I guess you have some experience with that. I had to google it.......

This is another reason I was hesitant to get involved in this thread and detail my experience with Steve Ortega of TrendSetterz. These posts are not constructive when they devolve into name calling and snarky comments (ESPECIALLY BY THE MODS!!!) Really unacceptable... you guys should be above that kinda of behavior or you shouldn't be MODS.

Now can we please move onto something more constructive, as I have just finalized my complaint on the Better Business Bureau website. This will be the second complaint against Steve Ortega of TrendSetterz Customs to date. Next I will be contacting my local magistrate to determine an appropriate legal course of action. Also will be contacting PayPal to lodge a complaint (but I'm sure Steve has learned not to leave any balance in his PayPal account as that is the only way they can really get money from him).

96. I believe Blair got the joke. That is all it was.....
The only way to work it out, is to contact a lawyer. I really do not think that Steve much cares about his BBB rating.

Agreed. Even if you win a judgement against him, actually receiving money is another story, since he likely has none.

If it's grand theft, unlawful and someone gets busted, part of the sentence normally includes restitution where the perpetrator is required to make restitution payments to the probation or parol department as a condition of probation/parol and repay the victims over time. Normally over the 3 year period of supervised release.

Just got off the phone with PayPal. They said its outside their 45 day dispute window, but they will notify Steve of my complaint. They recommended that I call my issuing bank and dispute the payment. They said if an issuing bank works with PayPal it's more likely you'll get your money back.

I also informed PayPal this is the second claim against Steve in which he did not deliver on goods or services. The lady said "thank you and if we determine he is defrauding buyers we will disallow him from using PayPal services again".

Looks like his kid just had to have surgery for something too. I doubt he has insurance. I would be really surprised if anyone received any money or hulls anytime soon.

He obviously has some sort of money with all the extravagant motorcycle builds he's been doing. Whether it be money from business loans, or people he's ripped off, he's got money coming from somewhere. It's just unfortunate he forces these troubles on other people and their hard earned money.

How did you plan to go to college if you did receive your hull and had to pay the remaining balance on it...? Your education affects your long term success in life. Sacrificing that for some short term fun is not the best life decision...

I needed to save money to spend on books spending etc to make a more positive experience this year compared to last. I am working 60+hours a week at 8.50 an hour hoping to make money for college but now it seems like I am going to come out about even by end of summer. This whole thing is messed up. If anyone would understand what jet skiing meant to me they would understand. I don't have any other hobbies besides jetskiing. I don't have a fancy car, fancy clothes and my parents don't buy me anything jetski related because my mom is having a difficult time and I'm trying to help her out. This whole situation is going to affect the next few years if not longer. I am working with whatever time I have trying to finish this outlaw hull build. I am debating taking a year of school to get on my feet over winter with jetskiing and money for college.

I would not recommend taking a year off, very few who do return. If you have a chance to go to college do it, and don't leave. There are many success stories of people who didn't attend, but way more for the people who did. Hopefully this does not start a war.
