Good to know. I got my jetting in the mail today, finally. Why does it need to take the USPS 7 days to move an envelope from GA to WA?

Anyways....I guess I'll play around with a bigger Hi speed jet.
I won't have time to try out new jetting until the weekend, unfortunately. I have a Squarenose I need to put together.

Next time you need jets in WA call Randy at Watcon. He's the last of the good guys and will have anything you need. He's in WA also. Probably 1 day shipping.

Hey! Good call. The boys from Blowsion are great, as well - but they don't necessarily stock all jets (and they don't really sell them to begin with - they helped me out in need! Thumbs up!)

Squarenose, huh?

I've got 2 rounds I need to assemble, but . . . I've also got a GP1300R to finish, and . . . a Seadoo or 2 that need work, and a full time job, and a family . . . there just aren't enough hours in the day.

Tell me about it. Full time job, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 12 kittens (!!!), going to school, selling a boat, building a square, and, last but not least, jetting a round.

ha!

I didn't sign up for the kittens. They are cute (GAY!), and I think I'll keep a Tom.
The rest we'll give away at a bake sale. Free kitten with your donut sir!

Alright, just got back from the River.
I finally have a setup that hits hard throughout the range.

2.0/115g (!!!) with appr. 32psi popoff
115 pilots 1-1/4 out
122.5 mains 1/2 out

I started suspecting the top was way too lean, and I was right. The bottom end was a bit too rich with 115 pilots and 95g springs, so I tried 115g springs.

Voila! Hard hitting setup now.

I will try 112.5 pilots and 95 gram springs and see how that feels.

Well, I went to the lake today. I rode the ski for a while with the 115 pilots at 1.25 out. Then I went to 1 and 5/8. It ran OK, but not great.

I remembered seeing that the second check valve was not flat so I wanted to look at that again, so I took it apart and thought about it for a while and them decided to put the 112.5s back in. I also put in some check valves that weren't bent. As I was doing so I found a small piece of metal by the main jet.

After that the ski ran quite well!! I'm very pleased. Suppose I will be until I hear of something different.

Update:

I had some time to fool around with jetting today, so I figured I'd give Waxhead's suggestion a try.
As a recap, my setup before today:
2.0 N&S / 115 g springs for 32psi popoff
115 pilots at 1-1/2
122.5 mains @ 1/2

I changed it to:
2.0 N&S / 65g springs for 17psi popoff
115 pilots @ 1-1/2
105 mains @ 1/2

Honestly, I was impressed - I didn't think this setup would do well at all, but it ran quite nicely. That said, it was a bit mushy and not as crisp as the setup prior to that.
I then changed to the following:

2.0 N&S / 95g for 25 psi popoff
112.5 pilots @ 1-1/2
122.5 mains @ 1/2

I really just dropped the springs one size and the low speed jets one size.
WOW!!! Nice supercrisp throttle response, screaming acceleration. Real arm jerker - even wore me out.
Wow, that was quite a bit nicer than what I ran prior to today.
I think I'll try 80g springs and 110 pilots and see how that does.

Okay....I tried out 110 pilots with 80 gram springs.
It worked, in fact, it worked just as well as the 115g springs with 115 pilots.

However, the sweet spot is by far 95 gram springs with 112.5 pilots. That's where it's at, great power and awesome throttle response.
I think I am done messing with it.

Now I can move on to tuning the pipe.

Ju are zo sillie.

I'm running 1/4 open on top with all else closed. Let me know if something else seems good for you.

BTW the card set-up I'm running is still it for me. It'd be fun if we could ride together and swap out carbs just see . . .

1/4 open on top and all else closed is what I got, too. It was my starting point. Am I already done messing with that, too? :frown:

It would be interesting to swap our intake/carbs, because I am fairly certain that our porting very similar.
I suspect your restricted intake and thus higher air velocity has a lot to do with the different jetting.
In fact, it occured to me that last year - when i successfully ran 2.0/95g / 125 pilots /122.5 mains - the only differences in the engine were smaller bore (82.5 vs. 83), less porting, and epoxied fingers in the cases.
I have taken the epoxy out over the winter. That increased available volume and slowed down air speed.

Hurrrr.....
