Yes the hull without the hood is 79 pounds.

It will be interesting to get it on the water and see what the hull is all about. It could go either way. Hopefully I can use this thread to help answer everybodies questions about the ROK-R.

Is that 90 lbs with turf, plumbing, intake grate, ride plate, pump shoe, pole bracket latches and various hardware?
If so that's still pretty light.

I agree. Sub 100lb glass hull isn't bad. Glass Rickters weigh around the hunnert pound mark...

4 Seasons l noticed you have the same battery holder that my Rok had.Make sure you put some grease or some kind of rust protector on the threaded rods.Mine got real rusty after a year.

Decided to get started on the build, it's almost spring Just got my Solas 12 Mag pump in, just waiting for my thrust trim system so I can get it shimmed and installed. Should be ordering a X-metal competition length pole in the next few days unless anyone has a used one they're looking to sell?

I have no idea what the X-metal competition length is, but from the few min I had on the hull that WDK had at the finals I can tell you that you're going to want that pole super short.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts after riding the hull. Even if it's negative Did it have the short or long plate on it?

It had the short plate on it. The hull seemed fun. The motor had a massive exhaust leak according to Jeff when I rode it and was lacking all kinds of power. It was hard to ride with the power as it was. Working with the horribly running motor was a pain, but the hull seemed capable of putting a smile on anyone face that wanted to have a fun playful ski.

jeff says there is no way to put enough foam or floatation in this hull to keep it afloat. says as long as the hood breather tubes are long, even up side down, the tube openings are above the waterline so it wont take on water that way. wether thats true or not, i really dont want to find out.

I've had nightmares thinking of this ski sinking already, so I think I'm gonna grab one of those.

Getting ready to order an impeller. Thinking 9/15 or 10/16 hooker, but if anyone wants to chime in I'm all ears. 6mm stroker on 82mm bore, TL, 46mm Buckshots and a B Pipe.

Never had a drop of foam in my freak for 3 years. It does have sealed chambers of air under the tray but I bet would stay afloat long with the hood popped loose. Don't sweat it.

The ROK-R's rear is not sealed, though. It's open from the front all the way to the back. If it sinks, it's going down.

Well I won't sweat it to much then. With the way our snowpack is this year are reservoirs are gonna be waist deep anyway

Thanks for the compliment burton391, I've been watching your squatch build as well, looking good.

Just got off the phone with Rick at Xscream and ordered a competition length pole. They are finishing up a batch today and sending them off to powdercoat tomorrow, so should ship in 2 weeks. Can't wait to get it.

my xft was the same way no foam in the rear other than the upper side rails i think every hull should be built without foam. they are way lighter that way and no place to store water. when i went from xft to rok. it was like there was a ton of bricks under the tray i haated it. one thing i like about the rokr is that there isnt any foam or a place to store water. that thing will never sink and if it dose make sure to kill the engine before it goes down and it will be good as new. in mi freshwater lakes ive only seen a couple skis almost sink and were both operator error for sure. i wouldnt worry one bit.

I talked to jeff (wdk) and he suggested the pole lengh at 27 inches from pivot to pivot. I hope that helps you out a bit. nice build!

Thanks. Got my competition length pole from xmetal last week. 27.5 inches at its shortest so hopefully that works well. Should have the majority of my other parts in this week so I will be updating the thread soon. Hope to be on the water in a couple weeks.

Piratelife forgot to mention that the neither the pump nor the motor required any shims at all. Pretty nice to have a hull go together like that. I've had 3 AM hulls and the WDK I currently have is the only one that is running no shims and neither is Piratelifes. BOB-aint even gonna start, Trinity has a few.
