I'd give them a go but the closest store to me is 116 miles away.
I've never even been to a Duluth store, I've only ordered online. Their sizing is pretty accurate. Anything with "flex" in the title will blow your mind... pants and shorts aren't supposed to be this comfortable.

Are they similar to the Dickies Flex series?

I spent a couple hours in Bass Pro one day trying on every single make and model of work pants in their inventory and walked away with nothing. I eventually went back and got a pair of the Carharts but I did not care for the fit of any of the “flex” branded lines.

My new TIG unit showed up this afternoon.

The first project will be to build a cart that it actually fits on.

Very nice! What unit are you coming off of or is that your first AC/DC Tig setup?

I'm looking to upgrade my 15yr old Asian inverter unit. It was on the bleeding edge of cheap imported all-in-one units and right now all that it can still do is basic AC tig, DC tig and Stick (Used to be able to do plasma, pulse tig and AC Frequency adjusted tig (That's when things get fun!). I'd like to get 200A ability too, 150A is somewhat limiting.

This is my first TIG unit but I have been using a Miller 211 MIG with a Spoolmate 100 for 6-7 years now.
All I have done is aluminum up till now so this will let me dabble in some stainless too.
I really wanted to get a Miller TIG but I would have had to spend $5500 to get a unit that matches the specs on this AHP unit.

This unit was $720 shipped to my door.

Reviews are decent enough. The Neverlast units are the other popular choice but this unit seemed to have more comments about people actually getting parts and service.

I made the chin pad too. an xscream with a screw thru the mounting hole on a fence post. plastic wrap on it and layed wet glass on that. making sure it kept tight to the original form as it hardened. trimmed and turfed.

Made a cheap easy awning for camping or whatever. The tarp I think was a free coupon for harbor freight, the rest was $20ish from lowes.

1 6.5'x5.5' hazard frito tarp
5 5'x0.5" conduit
3 0.5" conduit connectors
2 m8 rivnuts
2 m8 bolts
2 3/8 unc nuts
2 3/8 unc bolts
2 corkscrew ground anchors
20ft 550 hidden fart paracord

Mounts:

Drill 2 holes into the bed rail 66.5 inches on center and install m8 rivnuts

Legs:

Cut one of the conduit pieces in half and stuff one 3/8 unc nuts into one end of each section. Put 2 tack welds on each nut and set aside.

Cross bars:

Take one 5' section of conduit and install a coupler onto the end, then add another section of conduit to the end. Mark total lenght of 67.5" and cut to lenght. Mark 1" at each end and flatten in a vise. Mark and drill 3/8" diameter hole 0.5" from end of tube on flat section on each end. Remove sharp edges.

Assembly:

Connect 5' section and 2.5' section with conduit coupler to form leg, tighten to notgonnafallout ft-lbs. Repeat for other leg.

Take crossbar assembly and connect tarp with 3/8" bolts on either corner. Screw legs onto crossbar. Leave approximately 0.5" of unthreaded lenght.

Connect the other end of the tarp to the mounting points of the truck bed.

Slip paracord over exposed bolts on the legs and pull tight. Place and tie to ground anchors.

Enjoy shade.

I automated my not so secret hidden gun drawer today...

And to be clear, this feature was the entire motivation behind the new bench build.

I used a power window regulator, ($35), an RF remote kit, ($12), and a 3D printed battery adapter ($19) that accepts my milwaukee M12 batteries.

The slides were a bit more complicated and involved cutting down a set of 33” Rollon full extension slides rated at 1200lbs.

Looks good, Minimalist style... I have a heavy version so I can relate..

Most of the time it’s just running from the campsite to the ramp so this light one is perfect. Originally I had planned to tow a double ski trailer behind it so I went super beefy but it’s just way too heavy moving in and out of the trailer. Now I have both depending on the situation.

Cheap flounder fishing lights.

18" 1.5"x1.5"×3/16" aluminum angle

4 18w 2x6 led lights

2 4' lenghts of 0.5" conduit/pvc

4 3/4" pipe clamps

8 m6x1.0x20mm bolts

2 m6x1.0x40mm bolts

10 m6x1.0 flange nuts

100ish feet 12awg speaker wire (cheap dual conductor wire that I had)

2 12awg ring terminals for 1/4" bolt

Adhesive lined heat shrink

Crystal clear epoxy potting resin

Making the lights waterproof

Disassemble the lights and make "dams" out of foil tape.

Place lights so that the forward face is horizontal. Mix and pour the epoxy halfway up. Reinstall reflectors and pour epoxy to fully enclose all components. Let cure and remove tape.

Once the tape is off, sand the edges flush so the end caps can be reattached.

Making light mounts

Cut the aluminum into 2 9" lenghts and drill 3/8 holes into ends for lights to attach. Drill half inch hole into center of tube for cable passthrough. Drill 5 1/4" holes into vertical leg for mounting pvc tube. Drill the center hole last once tube is installed. Join lights together and connect light to wire. Add fuses and ring terminals for battery connections.

Catch some fish.

The brainiacs in charge at my work decided to put a 220 outlet in my work area For a new welding machine. They Bought a 25 foot extension cord and plan to have welding done by Mr slow poke in my work area.

Well as expected it’s not working out for me, so I found a welding 50 foot extension cord and they agreed to buy it so Mr slow poke can weld in his own work area....and the welder can be brought to the job and instead of the job brought to the welder lol.....

So I made this bridge for the 220 supply cable to cross over the shop floor when he welding and we can still drive cars over it....
