Does a slowly developing powdercoat setup count? Lol

That ripsaw atv is sweet!

Yes it does and yes it is!

Can we really call it an ATV though?

There is a complete 488Cid V10 with all necessary harness and modules on my local craigslist that has been calling my name...I just need a project to justify buying it other than transplanting it into my truck!

Put it in the truck! First one to the ramp with the skis! I say atv literally because to me it looks like an all terrain vehicle?

Went ahead and started breakfast for the rest of the week. When you get up at 4am this isn't what you really want to do.

Probably still better than my 5.7 hemi!!

No sir! I have owned two of the Dodge V10's and they both got 9.5MPG. Empty, loaded, cruising or flat out hauling ass and whatever else I had loaded...9.5MPG.

Empty they topped out around 132MPH but even with my big camper on and pulling a 24ft trailer full of skis or ATV's the thing would still pull 110 and get there about the same time. Unreal engines and I would take another V10 over a Cummins.

Now, that Hemi, that's a sweet engine and it gets great mileage....(for a truck with 396HP anyways).

That's impressive! My hemi got 8mpg no matter what! 150-180km and she's empty. Wasn't running correct either but that was too expensive since I'm making ~200cdn every two weeks. Eventually my oil got drained while I was at work and she blew up.... Engine swap is underway but it's taking forever.... Blew up in the last week of August

I recently drove a 2016 Hemi for 3 weeks after I totaled my last truck and it averaged 16.8 on my daily commute where my 3.7 got 12.8 and my 4.7 gets 11.8.

These new trucks have come a long way. The new Hemi with 396HP is a very fun truck to drive!

I will have one very soon. At least a 2014, maybe even as new as 2015.

I have to sell mine as soon as I have the recalls and everything done. I'm pressed for money. I'm 17 and have four skis. Something has to go

I finally have something to contribute to this thread. The superchicken chamber brackets didn't have enough adjustment for the aftermarket pipe I was running so I fabbed some up with a drill press, a porta-band and some 6061 blocks from McMaster.

Original brackets:

Mocked in place, it works!

Blasted and ready for paint

Finished. I even drilled 45deg holes from the counter bores so they won't hold water and will drain.

I finally finished my prototype steering system. I run obnoxiously wide bars and wanted a knee-friendly design that wouldn't wear out, loosen over time or corrode in fresh/saltwater. So far it glides like glass with any tension one could want. It runs on bronze bushings and uses most Boxxer/Fox pattern MTB direct-mount stems. That leaves handlebar options wide open to any 31.8mm or 35mm MTB bar depending on stem choice.

I fabricated all of the components by hand on my manual mill. At some point I might have them properly CNC'd. First I need to test the system and make sure no issues arise or design changes are needed.

There's a good 30+ hours of design and fab time here, probably more.

Damn, my 1989 F150 with 5.0 gets 13-14 mpg usually; 11 mpg recently hauling 3000 pounds to Maryland... Now my Dad's 85 F250 with a 460- that truck got 6 mpg no matter what, like how you described your V10. And it was just as fun to drive, too!
