What do I need to do to make my 760 64x low end smoother?

I thought it was strange how the 760 oem 44s have 2 pulse lines, 2 fuel pumps, but single inlet to the carbs

You mean single fuel line that T's to the two carbs? I think this is because they use a reserve switch, so single line through that then T to dual carbs. Evidently two individual lines not needed. I think they run the 1200 triple off of a single fuel line too.

I don't think it will matter either way. I'm running a single pickup on my dual 44's, but won't hurt to do dual, I would extend the pickups to be even, and I like the check valve type "clunks" on the pickup in the tank.

So I got my total loss fly wheel (stock that's gutted and lighten for the zealtronic ignition) and some 140 main jets. Hopfully this will help dial it in. I need to cut the water more to my b pipe. Still wasn't running super hot this past weekend. If 140s don't help, do I bump the lows? I'll need to reread all this thread again to try reverse jetting. Seems like you would go through a lot of base gaskets if your taking off the carbs or have a chance of ripping the mesh screen on the carb to get to the jets.

Are you running the stock 760 intake? If so, did you fill the crossover?
If not, you need to do that.
You can remove the jet cover 1000 times and not wreck the diaphgram or gasket. Also, if you grease the carb base gasket you can get away with reusing it but the oem gaskets arent real expensive and a few bucks on gaskets are worth a better tuned ski for sure.

Also, the guys that gave you the jetting recommendations gave you it for a reason. They are a better starting point. Make sure your crossover is filled. That will drastically change your tuning and those specs are based on having it filled.

Yes it's a stock intake, what exactly is the "cross over" I've been reading about it recently but wasn't sure?

What makes you think you need richer high speed Jets?

If you search through the various jetting threads I've never seen anybody running Jets that big in 44mm carbs, and I have personal experience with a somewhat similar setup that needs way smaller high speed jet. 38mm carbs might run a 140 main jet. I'm worried that you might be taking jetting advice from somebody with 38's.

That is a good point about the crossover. I'm not sure how it would affect things if that is left open, I filled mine.

I talked to a few racers and that was their advice, plus there was a thread on it here about a guy with the same set up (kind of) and everyone said to start with 140s. Since I don't have porting.
