Thanks bk. my ski not only looks incredible but rides incredible. patients is a virtue, I also just got my replacement rideplate free of charge since my first plate snapped because I didn't put bottom bolts in. it did take some time but the end result is a great success. thanks steve!!

Just an fyi, steve said back in november that he would send me the difference I lost in selling my broken hull since I never got a replacement. Still havent seen that money.

If you want custom order like paint and blak blah then deposite is required ... poop has got out of hand with me these last couple months I'll be the first to admit tooling new poop putting Chans on back burner and so on ... I'm really really trying to make it better but it taking time ... I should have never made promises or even talked of new skis until they were done because I always think I can do things in 2 weeks that really takes 2 months .... I've pissed people off I know for sure but I am working to make it better and that's all i can do ... Like I said before I'm not going anywhere ... I'm in this for the long run rather people like it or not I will continue building ,developing skis ... I love it there's nothing better to see people getting enjoyment out of things I hand made ... I've only been going at this for a year now give
It some time we are only gearing up to be bigger and better rather the x likes it or not ... I used to let turbo mouth get to me but he just makes me feel warm inside ... I never new another man would love

I'm only mentioning this because Steve is taking a beating and my name was brought up.
Like Christian I was lured by the offer of the Phantom for my replacement hull. It was made clear that if I was in a big hurry, that I should take a Chan. I thought about it for a few months and told Steve sometime in Dec I think that I would take the Phantom option plus some horse trading. So he gave me a rough idea when I might see it, and honestly I expect it to take longer, because that's how I stay sane.
Since I have a hull to ride, I decided I could try really hard to be patient, and the reward would be the newer hull. This sounds sarcastic, but I think some of you (definitely Steve) knows I'm not a patient person.
Now, if I don't have a hull by.... May or some something... Yeeeeeeah, here comes another 'Really' thread lol...
So that's my story, not that it's really anyone's business.
I'm not taking sides on the OP's situation. I think there have been a lot of valid opinions brought up. I hope things get worked out....quickly.

come on swap, you were steves biggest fanboy at the start. backie chan thread of awesomeness and all that. lured by steve? you guys bit into that like a hungry trout! dont blame steve cause you guys were being greedy to get the new model instead of the exact replacement or what you first ordered. you guys basically doubled down. you didnt lose but you have to wait to collect. sorry, but you cant have your cake and eat it too! disreguard anything i say, i've been guzzling blue guava or whatever its called.

tyler i think you have been patient enought with him on this. By now he should have contacted you to pay you. Even if his customer service was bad. Addressing a issue like this is a big deal! I hope he contacts you soon for this.

I think he is learning that his time is not free. Slinging $3000 hulls with awesome paint jobs is not really a great business model.
Good luck lawmaster, maybe with his next hull sold he can re-direct some cash your way.

this will never work. all it will do is give a false sense of having plenty of time and will lead to taking on more work since you have extra time. just like setting your alarm early will lead to hitting snooze, or changing the time ahead will lead to snooze. reality is its just discipline to learn your limits and here is the hard part- commit to staying in the limits of what you can do. I am terrible at this also so I am not preaching. I always always want to make everyone happy and saying no is not making them happy. funny thing though is always saying yes doesnt always end up making everyone happy either. both paths make me unhappy lol.
maybe I have it screwed up in my head but I know for sure that some of you have this idea that making custom parts in a garage is somehow this huge money making machine. its not.
I am constantly chasing a dollar to pay bills and then working furiously to keep pace with the orders that just paid bills. its not easy to do and the only way I think I may make it is by making hulls. otherwise this will turn into a part time hobby. like something to make a few bucks after work when I get a real job. I understand this doesnt mean its ok to take money and then not deliver on time. its just not as straight forward and simple as its made out to be. I cant explain why, I have been struggling with it since I started doing this. its always hard to do everything. Prob more so for a single person vs a shop. maybe if orders came in at a set interval it would be different but its feast or famine and so the work goes that way. this will be the part where somebody says, "well why dont you make parts in the downtime so you have stuff in stock?" How can I do that if I need to pay bills? when there is no work you look for work, when there is work you are busy doing it. there is never a point that I have reached where the work was all caught up and my back account was flush w it next months bills. never.
I have no stake in Steves or anyone else business. I am simply opening up and sharing personal and private problems so that some of you who are faced with the Hull/parts builder limbo hell might get a little glimpse of what may or may not be going on with your situation. I dont think that most of the quality guys out there are ever setting out to make you unhappy, and its certainly not in their/my best interest. so there must be a reason why. well for me, this is why. and while it doesnt fix your problem, maybe it will help you understand that at the very same time you are fuming and pacing and wondering what the flux is going on, the other side is the guy scrambling to make you and everyone else happy and knowing the entire time that one or more people are pacing and cursing your name. And the resin still cures at its own pace, and sanding still takes time, and texts and emails and phone calls dont answer themselves. and paperwork piles up and materials need to be ordered and......
its no excuse. but I still dont have a better solution either

Hmm... Neither of those were supposed to be at finals and those two hulls have been discussed repeatedly.. Nothing new there. Good job. I have plenty of pics of mine I could send you if it'll help in your argument.
