I'm fine and and so is the other guy. Unfortunately my little truck is likely totaled.

Went to turn a corner and the truck just never turned. Fresh rain on these Georgia roads makes them slick for the first 5-10 minutes. First half of the corner was dry but the rain line was right at the halfway point. The front tires lost traction in the tight turn and I just drifted across the line into oncoming traffic.

Reviewing the dash cam footage now and then will move on to Craigslist to find another truck. I'm over it and moving forward.

All things considered, this is your perfect chance to get a real truck. ;)

Yup! Quad cab with a Hemi!

The saddest part is that this little truck was in such good condition and I had so little money in it. Book value is probably less than $5K but it saves me twice every year I drive it by not breaking and not having any payments. I paid $4500 and drove it for 3 years already so I guess it doesn't owe me anything but I was really looking forward to driving it for another 5 years at least. More to the point, I was really looking forward to not spending any money on vehicles for the next 5 years either. :(

That sucks man! Might be able to fix it pretty cheap, I rebuilt my 07, bought it as a total loss 4 years ago. Works hard every day, 355,000 miles on the clock. Picked up a nice deal in the bed yesterday, ready for the Carolina Beach Freeride!

I hope so. The section of the frame where the bumper attaches is quite bent so it will all depend on how far back that goes. Everything else is very modular and I could have it all back together in a good afternoon.

But now I got the idea of a Hemi floating in my head...

Glad you're safe Boyer.
I think @Lumpy meant that this is your opportunity to get a GMC/Chevy.

My dad had an 02 3500 Cummins...500K on the clock before it just couldn't take anymore. Great trucks.

Is your truck a smoker? If it is, think long and hard before you go back to a gasser...

It's more of a wheezer with a 213HP V6 in a truck with a curb weight of 4200lbs.

I've owned Diesels before and know enough to realize I have absolutely no justification for owning another at this point in time. I know they have their place, (and their fan base), but I am a realist and have run the numbers many different times. Unless you regularly tow over 12,500 lbs, (I don't even tow over 1000lbs), Diesel is not necessary and a gasser will be a more financially sound choice in the long and short run. Most own diesels because they just love the sound and the torque and other diesel attributes. Been there, tried that on and just didn't like. As far as i am concerned, Diesel trucks died around 1999.

Personally I love BB gassers, more specifically, the 488 Ci Magnum V10's. I would own another V10 (had 2 already, a 94 and a 95) before I would ever consider another Cummins, (had a 2004 and a 2008). Since V10's are so hard to come by in decent shape and get horrible mileage, the Hemi is a solid replacement. The new ones have considerably more HP, just as much torque and get probably twice the mileage.

As under powered as this little truck seemed with the V6, it actually handled all it's current duties spectacularly. I have grown quite fond of it in the past 3 years. Far more than I ever thought I would too.

FYI, this is my current dream truck...

Well since this was a fresh top end @82mm from the machinist yes it was checked.

Used stuff I don't check. If it came out of a ski running I put it back together.

Good luck with your new parts. Hope it runs as well as it did for the 8 tanks yours lasted.
