What's your view look like today?

Well since this was a fresh top end @82mm from the machinist yes it was checked.

Used stuff I don't check. If it came out of a ski running I put it back together.

Good luck with your new parts. Hope it runs as well as it did for the 8 tanks yours lasted.

If you took it apart, why would you put it back together with used parts? Everyone has their own way but seems counter productive to me. But I also think it's pointless to do just a top end when it takes an extra hour and $40 for crank seals to have a good motor with no worries.

Cmon now really? It was blatantly obvious that was a used top end. Even someone who doesn't know a thing about an engine can tell that.

Well yeah it's obviously a used top end. I only asked why go through all the trouble then stick old Pistons in it. Just doesn't seem worth the risk...... I guess Unless your selling it and not making it your problem. Your right this is prob best for a different thread.

It was a backup engine for myself. After it sat for a while I decided to offload it. I have a few other engines on the shelf I want to try instead when my current one quits on me.

If it blew up on me I would have put another top end right back on it and never made an X-h2o post. This will be my last post about this motor.

Nice how he deleted his post......
