What's your view look like today?

My pup sniffed this little fella out this morning on our hike. Then we walked about 40 feet and heard this crazy sound and it was the momma clacking her beak at us and then spreading her wings to look all badass. She was on the ground too. Pretty sure she just fed him because just before we found the little guy we found some fluff from a rabbit's tail on a stump with a bunch of bird poop. Wicked cool start to the day. And...how the hell do I get pics to load upright?????

Started to build a bar on my dock house a couple days ago. This was a walk in change room but I already have one on the other side. I was able to use all the lumber from the demo to do the rear wall which was already distressed. I’m going with a live edge slab for the bar top but with something like this it’s something you figure it out as you go. 40C90107-0A96-431E-A5ED-DD4F40ED7DB6.jpeg

I’m closing in on my latest build.

I’m replicating my tried and trued OCD workbench, only out of aluminum this time.

The top, legs and shelves are all 1/4” 6061 with a backer of 1/8” to keep everything square. The work surface gets a 1/2” sheet of UHMW for ultimate durability and function.

I still have a bunch of welding and polishing to do, in addition to building the entire center section that will hold 20 to 24 plastic organizers like my original bench only with more capacity.

Using aluminum over wood was a chance to slim things down a bit and shave some weight off. I gained over 6 inches of width so the center section will now hold another whole column of organizers while only being 2" wider. Each shelf gains another 2 inches in width and sits on 100lb full extension sliders.

The real trick was making it heavy enough that it doesn’t move too easily, hence the 1/4" legs.

Thanks, My wife and I grew up coming to this lake. We’re truly blessed to finally have a place out here. However, we live in earshot of the military base across the lake so when I hear retreat at 5:00pm I still can’t help but snap to attention and render my salute. Lol I did 17 years of my career there.

I figured that type of stuff would have been happening weeks ago when hardly anyone was out and about but things are pretty busy again aren't they?
