Well I learned a valuable lesson today.

I picked up a roadkill turtle this morning thinking it would be cool to have the shell once the turtle had vacated it.

However, after 8 hours of cooking under the bed cover, the carcass gave me the gift of a million flies and a stench I shalt not get out of my nostrils or truck for at least another week.

I ended up ditching it on my way home and then spent an hour rinsing and scrubbing out my truck bed. At this point I honestly can’t tell if it still stinks or if the smell is stuck in my sinuses.

As a gag, a friend of mine found a dead turtle on a road crossing at a golf course. He put it in another friends bag and zipped it up. All day in the sun, he threw his bag in the trunk over night. It smelled so bad the next day he threw the golf bag out! Worst smell ever.

Thank you jetfreak, I could not get the right search combination into Google to come up with an answer. I see them occasionally here at the beach but have never gotten a decent picture.
