so - that thread...all 444 posts in total over a period of approximately 60 hours....that thread was locked and you call that "sweeping it under the rug?"Locking a thread to me is sweeping it under the rug. If people cant be recpectful in their post they deserve to be banned but locking the thread keeps it from being at the top anymore. Their have also been other issues other than just the latest instance. Like I said I see both sides as being wrong. And actually none of my thoughts are directed toward you penguin you have seemed to remain pretty unbiased.
miserable is an alternative to banning
it will make the targeted user see alot of error screens and simply makes navigating the site a real pain to the point where they give up and don't come back
you can set it up so that a certain percent of clicks will lead to one error page or another
you can actually see what error page they are on when you look at their profile while the person is online
give me a ******king break.
I consider myself fair at word boggle but WTF has six letters and ends in king? Is it a adjective, noun or a verb? Please help as I am stck on this post. :wizard:
"burgerking" :cool2:
you deserve a burgerking break today. :Banane26:
I know what it is, pwctoday has it installed still. We don't. Pointless.
Sweeping under the rug dosn't mean to get rid of it but to make it less visible. Only reason it wasn't deleted was because the mods don't want the reference to Brian Glenn. Which thread are you talking about? their were multiple threads. Also If you think I am only talking about pete/paul you are wrong there have been many confrontational threads not involving Pete. Isn't that how you became a moderator?. Anyway I could really care less about arguing with you. I was just stating the way I see it from an outsiders view without the Paul/ pete blinders on. The childishness is why I dont frequent this site as much or attend rides anymore. This is the most immature/ arrogant sport I have been involved in and thats also why I am slowly getting out.so - that thread...all 444 posts in total over a period of approximately 60 hours....that thread was locked and you call that "sweeping it under the rug?"
at some point - most threads become generally useless.
if "stuff" was really going to be "swept under the rug" - that thread would have been deleted, along with every reference to Pete/Paul conflict and any "dyno" jokes that came up after that.
give me a ******king break.

Who put an offer in on the site?
Doug
I'm not going to name the company, but it's not anyone in the jetski industry. They are a company that buys/runs vbulletin sites for profit.
The reason some threads get locked is that they seem to become self-perpetuating. If we didn't lock them, then people would keep on and keep on and eventually someone takes offense, then it becomes a bigger deal, etc etc.
It's kind of like a timeout, let everyone think for a second, if you want to start another thread about the same thing we can't stop that. Typically another thread does not get started, but if it does, then we have to keep an eye on that too.
We'd much rather everyone get along, but we're human so that's impossible. Hopefully instead people are mature enough to just not pay attention to the people that don't like, and to not make comments about those people either.
You seem to know exactly how we run the place and how we think, want to take our place? The pay is zero, everyone second guesses you, your statements are scrutinized like you're up for a cabinet position, the benefits are minimal, and some people will end up hating you, it's a GREAT DEAL!!!
We don't want to moderate this place like BG. You are correct in that.Sweeping under the rug dosn't mean to get rid of it but to make it less visible. the thread I was talking about is: http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/23917
and I had been a moderator for probably 6 months (at least) before that started. I should have my head examined for ever accepting a moderator job in this loony bin
If you do some looking, you'll probably find that most of the locked threads involve 1 person. The only reason they were locked is because that 1 person can't or won't post his thoughts without blowing his top and resorting to name-calling and insults. I'm no prude, but I can only stand being called an asshole-cock-sucking-MF'r so many times in 1 day.
I can understand not coming to the site because of the "childishness" - but to skip rides because of it? Hey - that's your call, but I think you are missing out.
If you enjoy the sport - why get out of it because of other people's attitudes and immaturity? Take your ski out - ride it like you stole it - and don't worry about what the rest of the inmates in the asylum are doing. :bigok:
