I have front exhasut on my square, with stock waterbox. The noise isnt to bad. But it does get a little smokey. I cut the back of my rn at a angle and put the exhaust outlet on the side in the back of ski. Check out my build thread. i used the outlit from a xmetal front exhaust. Nice glass work on the nose.

so you used the xmetal tip, what did you use for the actual pipe? I will check out your build. thanks for the input everyone!

thanks for the input guys... still trying to deside on the exhaust. i might end up exhausting out the cut back part of the hull. my buddy has a lathe, so we could turn a nice fancy outlet. Ive been taking my time on this ski, trying to do everything right... dont want to have to do it again in the summer!

I've got a build thread going too, but it's a bit slow. Work is getting in the way dammit! My RN came with front ex and it's a bit loud, but I'm going to pick up a new style xmetal water box. Supposed to be nice and quiet and also help out bottom end a bit over stock. I mainly ride flat and I know other guys will say otherwise, but I don't notice much of an issue at all with smoke from the front ex. Once in a while yah, but easily bearable. There's other benefits, but I think most will say go rear ex. I'm sticking with front...

I cut -3 off mine, but did a square cut because I think it will ride better with it, make ex and scupper install cleaner etc...

ya i hear ya, Im working way too much lately. also, the weather has been so cold and my ski shack isn't insulated so its tough to spend more then an hour or 2 out there, and never mind trying to glass. got out there tonight and glassed in ride plate mounts. so the cut back is all glassed in, as well as the bulk head (still haven't desided on the exhaust). just have to glass in the scupper, add another layer of glass on the cut back then i should be ready for foam and foot holds.

will post pictures next time im out there, and Ill check out your build thread NV JAY

its been a while since I posted on my thread here. lets see if I can catch up a bit... So I got the cut back all glassed in, and the tray all sealed up. installed my 615 footholds, feel so tight, almost like it was designed for me. check the pictures out

used some 2part expoxy on the back side of the holds, with some rivits to secure the hold inplace. filled the bond line with some 5200, then glassed all around the hold. the picture ^ is at the beginning of glassing the holds in.

think Im just gunna go with the front. its the lightest, easiest, cheapest method. I was gunna do rear out the side, but i was running out of time on the build so i went the easy way out
