Yamaha 701/760 Freestyle/Freeride porting templates

@yamanube Great guy to do business with, he responded quickly to my questions and shipped promptly. I haven't finished with my engine but I'm very excited to try it out. Once I finish. Buy with confidence

Verified - Full season on this template which for me is 42.4 hours on the meter. Nice upgrade in throttle response, higher rpms, noticeable more power!

Shipping was quick easy, instructions were helpful - no complaints.

I'd be interested in a more aggressive template if you ever decide to have another option.

I would like to purchase both sets of templates, 701 and 760, I seem to still need more posts to PM anyone... I did email you as well though at the address in the original post.

Edit, I guess I just need the bigger bore template, didn't notice it was 6m6 or 62t and larger.

Near finished season 2 on these. Going to pop the cylinder off to inspect and I'll report back this winter. But still running strong and planning to do another cylinder this fall.
Great work very happy customer. Might get daring and go a lil further.. :)

Rocking a few rides on mine with a 4mm stroker from HPE added into the mix, good low end snap and good all around power so far, if I could just keep things epoxied to the ski I would be putting a lot more time on it...

61x w/ worx,155mm pump, this port (as a starting point), b-pipe, 31cc domes under an ADA head.

Love it, if you're thinking about doing your first port job buy these. They last forever if you take care of them.

Thank you!

If anybody is using them so much that they wear out or something happens, hit me up and we can work out a replacement.

I use a 1/4" shank air grinder for the rough cut then a dremel with flex shaft for chamfering ports. The air grinder is a cheap-o but has worked for 10 years. Fastenal sells mini flap wheels with a 1/4" shank that are awesome for removing tool marks before you polish.

Google " 1/4" shank carbide bur "
Or " 1/4" shank flap wheel "

The dremel flex tool is on eBay for half the price and mine still works like a champ. I like the air grinder because you can stall it out vs. big electric grinders that will catch and do a loop around the port braking tools and scaring cylinder walls

What tools do you guys find best for chamfering the ports?

Ive ported my cylinders and just had it bored and now need to do the chamfering then I can build her up.

I use a flex shaft off eBay on my harbor freight dremel tool. Low rpm with a small ball stone making sure that I pay attention to the way the tool would jump if it were to catch. I would much rather it jump into the port than scratch my cylinder that I just had bored and honed. If time isn't an issue for you a "rat tail file" will also work. I have a file set where the entire file is shorter than a Bic pen. The files are very old so I don't have any advice on where to get them. Keep in mind I'm just a welder not an engine builder but it has worked great for me and I haven't had any issues with "catching a ring".

Cheers, I guess you meant a needle file. Found a really nice pear drop sort of shaped one. Took me best part of a couple of hours but all ports nicely chamfered now :)

Used an oil stone after to make sure it was all nice and smooth
