Yamaha Octane build

The outside is almost complete, we cut down and fitted a superjet carbon rideplate. The Hood latches down real tight and has a hood strap. Back side of handlepole has a layer of texilium, it looks nice through the pole.

Nothing wrong prolly, but stainless hardware w/ alum. inserts has always seemed to corrode and sieze on me if not removed and relocktighted frequently. Ever remove a umi bar clamp after a year of use SUCKS. On another note, it is the same route I would have gone.

I've had that issue before, but every stainless bolt gets coated with anti-seize before installation in any aluminum parts, its messy stuff but it works perfectly.

I'm next in line!

Agreed, again, its gorgeous! Great job Tom!!!
But that turn plate/ pole/nearly non-existent chin-pad setup scares the hell out of me! Way too much exposed metal!

Turn plate is stock length, the pole on an octane must be longer, because even this setup is shorter than I'm used to. A shortend turn plate would have me laying on the hood. I can always pull it in a couple of inches later.
I'm seriously considering a rr pole so i can adjust everything . I could also cut the waterdawg pad part off and put on a standard pole pad if I feel theres a safety issue after riding it.

The ski is almost completed, still have some plumbing and minor things to finish in the engine compartment. If I had my pipe chamber I could water test it on friday.

Really need my pipe.

i wish i had a pipe, she's ready to go. Bracket for the fuel tank is homemade, solves the issue of the tank flopping around. New msd plate, custom battery box to fit in the area its at. Small custom bracket holding the fuel pump to the tank.
