I re-used the metal Reed stops w/my carbontec reeds on my 61x. They're in place to keep the petals from over opening, and weakening them. The part in your 1st pic is the the bottom Petal of a 2stage Reed setup.

Flywheel needs to match the stator. 62t and 61x flywheels/stators are NOT interchange able btw. 61x is slightly smaller diameter. If 61x stator then 61x fw. If 62t stator then 62t fw. The 61x fw is a tad lighter than 62t as well.

Might wanna verify you're getting water into the exh stream in w/your top screw. It may be clogged. The bottom hole you just welded shut may have been your only water getting into exhaust. If you do have flow outta top screw then open it up until you get that chamber cooled back down, and then...
