What are the possible concerns with where I place the outlet (aside from the obvious of not too low)? ....Where is your bilge outlet and why? I plan on putting mine on the port side as high in the engine compartment as possible and as close to the tray as possible. ...that sound about right?
As I stated...
I use the tower to tow and it works great... my main concern is engine damage.
It seems the easy way is ...."pinch the cooling line going to the bottom of the exhaust manifold closed" - I guess I would just use a flat pair of "vice grips" ..or install a shut-off valve...
I'm not concerned about the way it tows ... The bow comes right up at speed... it subs at slow speed. The concern is how do I avoid engine damage. Totally stock ski. ...There has got to be an EASY solution?..??
Now this is VERY dissapointing to find out :(
... My kids are too young to ride the ski out ... As far as the ski being too nose heavy ... I don't see that as a problem: I tow off of the wakeboard tower up high and yes the nose subs a little at the start, but pops right up at speed... It worked...
OK ...pretty new to stand up (all jetskis for that matter) jet skis and I just ran across this online: Towing a Jet Ski - how do I prevent filling the engine
with water?
If you read in your manual it states that you cant tow your ski over 5 mph or
engine damage may result (flooding the cylinders...
Thank you all so much for the help. I am just about done with the bilge install. I have not been able to find a 2 1/2 amp fuse to put in the line though. Anyone know where i can find that? all auto parts stores around here don't have anything and I can't find online either. That is what the...
Ok I am new to stand up jetskis and generally ignorant when it comes to mechanics and fiberglass so please forgive me. I just got a 2001 SJ RN Totally stock and in good shape. I would like to install a bilge and I just received a YAMAHA 701 SUPER JET WAVE BLASTER RUNNER BILGE PUMP KIT 94-up...
OK, Thank you all for advice... I just decided the stock RN was a good way to go because above ALL else I just want reliability. I hope it works out. I paid probablt too much, but for me the deal works because I got rid of my old 550sx that was having trouble that I didn't want to deal with...
Search Craigslist in the South East and there are some dealers saying they have 2013 Superjets.... don't know the truth of it but its there on CL - Use search Tempest for CL search 400 Mile radius of Asheville - Thats where I am :)
I bought my first stand up ski last year. I love riding and I'm hooked! BUT I made the mistake of buying an older ski that was beat up and I paid too much and now its worth nothing! Its a 1995 550sx - ran "great" for a number of times ( not many) that I used it but now its f#@$ up and no one...
Thanks... I've seen your post but its still a little too much $ --- I'm on a LOW budget - only owned the ski a month or two and its already broke down! paid too much to begin with and now I'm just looking to get it back to running CHHEAP
I'm looking to buy a flywheel for a 1993 550sx part number # 21007-3707 -- Kawasaki OEM ... I can't spent 3 to 4 to $500.00 ... I see them for sale on Ebay for lots cheaper but no-one seems to be able to tell me if it will fit a 1993 550 sx -- How can I tell?
I am total newbie with no mechanical aptitude... ANY mechanics in Western North Carolina - Asheville? I have a 1993 550sx -- Been riding it a number of times this summer ... now it will not start /run ... no spark? AND now...starter won't engage- first I thought it was flywheel now I'm not so...

I have a new to me 1993 550sx. It runs great. I've run it a bunch of times. I was told when I got it that it had a new flywheel on it ( The guy said he didn't know why the old one was getting chewed up but he put a new one on it. ) It is supposed to have a new starter on it too. It seems that...
I am going to buy a ski... It will be my first one. I live in the mountains of WNC so I will not be riding often. Since it will be stored a lot in a small garage a smaller/lighter ski would be good but is it worth it for storage to buy a 550sx? or should I just go with a bigger ski? -- I'm 41...
