im into wearing a helmet.. im not nearly competent enough to get away without one as im always landing sideways/getting flung around. i like riding without one as i find the helmet causes a lot of drag for underwater stuff, but whenever i go out looking to barrol roll, etc. i make myself wear one.
i picked up a 228 for my 08 sj replacing the stock grate.. it has made a great difference. so much better hookup, no noticeable extra drag (08 already slows down like its braking when u let off the gas), and hasn't effected sliding the back around. overall i love it.
is it worth changing a stock cdi to an epic if there are no problems with the stock cdi? aka will there be a noticeable difference in performance with only a bpipe installed on a 701? i have never been sure what a modified cdi does other then raising the rev limit.
thanks
i installed the worx 228 on my 08 in may. it works great. way better hookup than stock and i havent found that it inhibits sliding at all. i almost feel like the hardcore braking the ski does when you let off the gas has gotten better with this grate.. i dont feel that jolt forward as much...
I was out on the st. lawrence river earlier today, saw three guys go by on stand ups.. one guy was on a white and green sxr, and the other two were on different skis i didnt know. trying to figure out who they are?
always looking for guys to ride with. if anyone on this site was one of them...
check out the e.p.i.c. that steve-uk sells on here over the msd .
i haven't used it but it has had great reviews on here.
either way it will be a great ski once all is done. good luck!
yah just went through this on my 08. it was a hassle that yamaha threw in the mix if you have to adjust the screws. anyway, mine were really in there. i drilled small pilot holes and then drilled them again using a bit almost the size of the cap, about half way in they loosened up and popped out.
got the carbs all tuned up nicely. now just fiddling with the pipe screws to see what suits me best. bpipe is an incredible mod.
whats the max rpm the stock limiter allows on the stock 701's?
pretty much only mastercraft.. canadian tire will routinely have 50 - 75% of sales on their mastercraft tools so i pick my tools up when its their week on the sale block. and they have lifetime warranty which ct is great about.
they aren't the best tools out there but they work for what i need
