I think it will take more than just the screws, I ended up jumping 2 sizes (from 130 to a 135 IIRC) on the MJ on my brother's twin carbed SJ coming from 5000' down to 700'.
The pole limiter? You want the pole to almost be at full extension when the rope gets tight. I get my rope from a local climbing store, they sell waaaayy better stuff than you get at a hardware store.
I'm not sure what stress points you're referring to, and personally I don't care too much what a specific mod looks like if it works well, especially if it's as cheap as the straight bar setup I hacked together. After all it's still an old POS no matter how much money you throw at it :)

Switching from the 0 degree umis to that setup made me hate my 750 a lot less.
Is that ride plate extended? My SXR felt a lot more playfy after I cut it so it was flush with the back of the hull. Boring the nozzle would depend on what pitch prop you have in there now, but I liked the bored nozzle on mine when I had the dry pipe on it. I would do a pole swap before anything...
What he said^. On choppy days I for sure liked my SXR better, but putting gas in it twice as often just wasn't worth it. It wasn't as good for any aerial maneuvers either.
