I am experimenting with a stubby (more than normal) hull cut.
Yes, that section cut out currently will stay that way, but the pump cavity walls surrounding the actual pump will be reinforced dramatically...
I am keeping the ride plate I have, but will most likely be cutting it and bending...
Thanks! I actually enjoy this sort of thing... I grew up destroying 550 hulls to the same tune.
Here are some more pictures.
I have photos of the carbon tubes I am using. They are actually broken carbon fiber hockey shafts (Super light and perfect for what I want).
I also have photos of...
I know that these images are difficult to see, but the crack is on the Left side of the hull near the nose.
These pictures show the fiberglass I popped off and the crack.
The second-to-last photo shows where some knuckle-head decided to lay an unreasonable amount of fiberglass down to "reinforce" a 18 inch-long crack. He or she also laid a couple of layers of fiberglass on the interior of the jet ski as well...
I popped the interior fiberglass off using a screw...
Hey X Members,
My name is Jeff and I picked up a 1990 Square Nose Superjet this past July (2011) to do a complete overhaul.
It came with a completely bone-stock 701 engine (I believe it was out of a Blaster) and everything else on the hull was stock.
I have Waterdawgkustomz footholds with...
I will check it all. The only thing that makes me think twice is the fact that it ran great for a solid 2-3 hours of riding, and then all of a sudden would run lean up top.
It screams (to me at least) clogged fuel filter.
lol I did remember to close the gas tank top. I know the previous owner ran 45:1, so I am an idiot and put 32:1 because that is what my buddy runs (which apparently is ALSO incorrect for an SXI Pro with a Factory Pipe).
Piston wash... you mean like the tops of the pistons? They seemed normal...
I looked for it, but figured someone would know off-hand.
I have a SN, but I ride with a guy who has a SXI Pro with a Factory Pipe who is sketch now that my ski is acting up.
Anyone know the proper ratio to run? He is currently running 32:1, and I now know that my stock 701 runs 45:1.
160 before this event. I haven't checked it since it bogged out because I was afraid of doing more damage than good. I had planned on pulling the head anyways...
For the most part, I do a lot of low-end riding like screwing around in a smaller area jumping waves and doing hood tricks.
Hey All,
I literally just bought a 90' SN Superjet with a stock 701 engine in it. It has a single carb and was running great all of Labor Day weekend...
Well... I went out with a buddy today and rode for maybe 20 minutes. Then it started getting really doggy and wouldn't open up the top end...
