It's a fix for the turning issues caused by the FX-1 pole Yamaha put on the 08+ SJ's. If you have a pre 08 pole you won't need this setup and can just use a regular steering cable.

Many thanks to the creators of this site. Without it I'd still be looking at my stock ski wondering how I could somehow get my feet held into the tray better.

Check out the kit TS Innovations is selling on here. I put it on my 08 and it fixed the steering issues. It is basically a modified steering cable that allows for far greater throw. Great way to finally get great throw with a stock 08+ pole.

I would definitely think about getting some but not for $50. It's funny because my buddy who is big into sleds was telling me about this stuff just the other day and then I stumbled upon these today.

Glassing isn't tough. I did it for my first time last spring and it just takes good planning. Go for it man. Also, the turf kits go on easy and don't look bad. However, if you get good with turf you can do a better job with a sheet. But it will look good if you take your time either way. Good...

Old thread, but I have a question.. So the carbs on the 08+'s don't have tamper proof caps on them? Everywhere says something different about this. I'm going to be installing a b pipe in the spring so I'm trying to figure out everything I'll need to do. Thanks for the help!

I would say get an 08+ or a/m impeller as mentioned above, then look into footholds.

Same here. I think the mat kit can look great if you do it right. One thing I disliked is the Wamilton logo in the turf but I think you can order the pre-cut through hydro-turf directly and get it without the logo.

Thanks, I won't add them then. Not really looking at changing the stock carbs. I'm really just learning all the in's and out's of these engines so this is good info.
