I used to do asphalt work for the County at my day job. In florida our current price is $215 per ton installed for that small of a job.
Your project of 50 x 15 = 750 sq ft divided by 9 = 83.3 sq yards
at 2 inches thich you would need 8.3 tons of asphalt.
8.3 tons x $215. per ton = $1791.00...

Typically they both wear a little. If you were changing plugs and the dome spins it could damage the oring causing ur issue. I still bet the cylinder deck is not tru.

It doesnt take much drop in a sleeve or warped mounting surface and the orings wont hold. I see this with alot of cylinders i get, almost all have some un eveness and require milling to tru the top deck.

Sometimes the sleeves in the cast cyl settle lower over time causing a larger gap than normal between the cyl and the dome which will cause the orings to blow out. I have also seen the domes and head shells wear over time causing the same issue but if your head is new most likely the sleeves...
Plastic tanks get old and can dry out and crack eventually. As for the rust on the cylinder, the engine may of set up last year with moisture on top of the piston its pretty common since these motors injest so much water from inside the hull and the pipe sprays water in the exhaust that can get...
Sorry i couldnt be more help. You may be right about the php 898. I know the blowsion super bore will take cr500 pistons as i used them in mine years ago. I think the dasa does too. One time years back i was rebuilding one and the pistons hit the crank and had to be modified so that makes me...
Its been a while but i think they can be used but require some mods like cutting the skirts shorter. I know i have used CR500 pistons in several 89mm motors. But its been a while so im like 85% sure too. Maybe 86%. Lol.

Typical starting point for screws is 1 turn out on lows and 1 and a 1/2 turn out on the high. Open the low screw to 1 turn out it may solve ur problem.

Where are the low screws set at? May need to Open the low end screws up. It may be a lean condition from lack of fuel.

Make sure the throttle cable is not holding the carbs open. Take the air filter off and make sure both throttle plates are closed completely. If those items are not the issue you may not have enough fuel going into the carb due to an air leak. Primer plungers are known to fail and let air into...
I have built several of these 967 kits for customers and you are correct the top of the case needs to be epoxied higher and milled to ensure a good seal. [emoji106]

Yes thats too much. I believe oem clearance was 8 or 9 and it needs rebored so at 7 ur almost there. If your worried go .0055 Wassers pistons can go tighter at .0045 but not wisecos.
