You should consider reaching out to @Philip Clemmons to set up the package surrounding your motor. I know he has a lot of experience with the Dasa 1100 and his builds speak for themselves.
Apparently heat helps for magnet removal. A guy I know is running this setup and he was having trouble removing the magnets and didn't want to get too rammy so he heated them up and they came out easy.
I think that depends on the meter, my meter does the same as his, says 1 when it's an open circuit. If it's not moving off '1' I'd say the wires are broken.
Ya, bagging definitely helps. If you are stuck hand laying, placing some poly or perforated release film over the glassed area before it cures seems to help smooth it out.
@McDog did you ever figure this out? My total loss electronics just did this to me yesterday. Had been working flawlessly for the longest time, but after a quick 10 min ride yesterday I stopped to fuel up and after fueling up, I noticed smoke coming from the electronics. Had to run and grab a...
I know some guys in Europe are running them on pump gas and going huge. I sold one to a guy named Niklas in Germany that loves it on pump gas and I know Tim Verheij is running one in his ski on pump gas.

Thanks for all the help guys! I never would have thought to look that an ear on the starter was hitting the cases, I've never experienced that before in all the starters I've installed over the years. Got it installed and it seems perfect after multiple starts. Also found the running problem...
Just found this when trying to bolt up the new starter:
I’m going to grind the ear on the starter a bit for clearance because I don’t feel like pulling the motor out or the exhaust manifold off.

He has a few issues at once, so it's hard to tell exactly what it's doing as far as kick back. We put in a new bendix the other day because it was making a horrible rattling noise, sounded great for the first few starts. Went and rode the ski, while warming it up it bogged hard and started...
I’m trying to help a guy get his ski running so I can help tune the thing but he’s been having a lot of starter/bendix issues and before his last of each get trashed I’m trying to go over everything. His bendix bushing seems fine, but how much play is normal? You can wobble the bendix slightly...
