JetManiac rebuilt my 04 SJ midshaft. To move the motor forward I had to simply disconnect my exhaust pipe from the rubber hose connecting to the water box. Not sure what pipe you have but should be straightforward. Also need to remove fuel tank and battery mount. Just PM Jetmaniac
JetManiac did a good job with advice and rebuild of my midshaft and pump the other week. I do not have a press and was not sure I was capable to do it correctly. They have OEM and aftermarket parts. (I went OEM).
You do need to pull the motor forward a few inches to pull the midshaft housing...
Weird problem being so intermittent. Rebuilding the carbs or at least taking them apart and cleaning is a good first start. Make sure you blow air to clean the small filter basket.
Could also be something as simple as a dirty or failing in line fuel filter (in the line coming out of the fuel...
Yah. No way the ride pulled in that much water. It would be quite a large hull leak/hole to pull in that much water as well. Was most likely pumped in. Cooling line. Pisser line.... If the water was hot that would indicate this as well.
If the bulge is not working, you can pull in that much water just from riding freestyle. Might check the bilge hose to make sure it is not kinked/clogged. I have aftermarket bilge pumps in all my skis, something you might want to consider.
We got the new FIFA jumbo ball out yesterday (covered in clear gorilla tape). It is sweet! Unfortunately with the high winds it took a while to get the goal anchored. It actually took 2 12 lb. boat anchors to hold that baby. Shooting/dribbling in the high winds and super choppy waves was...
I had a similar issue with my SJ. I went through almost as much diagnosis as you have, but not all that you mention. It ended up being a bad fuel filter, even though I had replaced it new. I am guessing you tried running without the fuel filter, but just in case you did not...
I checked the spark plug caps, and they are fully tight. No surprise, since they are new. A nice simple thing to remember to check though. Thanks.
The ski does not have a fuel/water separator.
Alright! My partner in crime on this has all the specs on the goal, and we will come up with some fun rules. Will get this to you. We found building a goal quite tricky going through numerous failed attempts. Brad ended up purchasing the one we have from Asia somewhere. Maybe you can have better...
Well I took out the reeds and they actually look ok. See pic. I will put the reed and manifold assembly I purchased anyways. Although I doubt it will make a difference since the original appears to be in as good a shape as the replacement.
The cylinders and pistons both appear to look and move...
Futball! Actually kicking the ball with your foot is quite tricky. With a light exercise ball it is possible, although super easy to wipe out. With a heavier ball it is not much fun.
Maybe we need to call it noseball
Yeah! Our home field is Chautauqua Lake. I could see games on Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, Finger Lakes, and whatever you have downstate! Get your team and bring it on! No couches though... they eat balls and goals.
For a 2004 Superjet.
Anyone have the following for sale?
- driveshaft
- midshaft
- impeller tool (Solas impeller)
- spline tool
- bearings/seals/o-rings needed (not sure what is needed when replacing these)
Sounds right. Looks like I have an expensive project with lots of labor. Man these skis can be a pain. Too bad they are way too much fun.
I think doing this once will be more than enough fun ;-(
Good luck with yours
The pics below are the end of the drive shaft. Since this is my first time pulling the pump/shaft, I am guessing the spline is stripped and not useable/fixable... and the the shaft (& impeller?) needs replacing. Also assume that I need to pull the mating coupler shaft and replace as well. Does...
I had a somewhat similar top end issue that ended up being a bad (new) fuel filter. I am guessing you tried this already, but since you didn’t mention it, try running without the fuel filter.
