Could not agree more. The real Freeride weekend is an absolute blast!! But for actual RIDING...the PRERide weekend is the best. Light crowd, super laid back, and the weather and surf have been really good past years. If you are even thinking about coming early...DO IT!

^^^^^^^ THIS! Do not attempt your first surf ride with a ski that barely runs! With 300 other riders its choppy as hell. You are 100% guaranteed to sink it within 5mins, and end up sitting on the beach with the hood off the whole weekend...lol No one wants that. Get it running right...

Im heading down right before XMAS and riding every weekend up to the preride weekend. Then daily after that! So stoked, starting to get stuff together for the trip this weekend.

Just incase anyone in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area is planning on attending and does not know already. Jetblue now has daily nonstop flights from JFK to Daytona Beach airport starting Jan 08,2016. No need to fly to Orlando or transfer at Atlanta.

OEM SJ cable is long enough for the FR2? I always thought with the longer pole tubes it was too short.

Ya I will take pics of it when I pull it off later this week. I have replaced everything upwards of 10times. The channel the middle oring sits in is damaged. And the top and bottom race that the thrust washers sit in is completely destroyed.

Thanks guys. I have decided not to cheap out and just replace the whole steering system. Shopping around, lots of interesting options out there these days.

I have the Xmetal in my FS2 with a limited. Fits like it was designed for the hull and is only slightly louder than the stock box. I love it.
