Listen, for a 1000 dollars and a pit bike I'd make the trade any day. You got a setup and a am hull fully set up. If you don't like it pretty up the hull and parts and sell it. You might be out the time it takes to make it nice but you'll get your money back. Life is about experience, good or...
Was running the low needle at 2 turns out for awhile and it would occasionally gurgle that would clear out with a little more pull on the throttle. I turned it 1/4 out and it got worse, so I screwed in a 1/2 and rode around for about 4 or 5 mins as low as I could to try and keep my fat @$$ out...
Only thing I havint nailed down perfectly is the off and onload. Since there is little room for a boat wench I used a 1000 pound come along raching wench. The come along is too small of a lead and again the scratching of the bottom of the ski is driving me nuts. The idea behind the stand is 2...
I may have screwed myself but I put a light bead of jbweld. I'm at the river for a week and if all I gotta do is mess with the carb after I'm done with all of this when I get home I'll be a happy camper.
Loosing prime. Single carb on a js 550. Problem was while I was tuning I'd ride up to the beach and turn adjustment screws as I'm in that portion (I believe) of tuning on the low end screw just to dial that in. Pop the hood off and I'd watch the fuel lines bubble back towards the tank. I wasn't...
Tighten the piss out of them and they work great. They have actually worked so well I made a stand for the bed of my truck out of them that doubles as a beach rack that's heavier then the skis basically. Only thing I don't like about it is the metal edges. They really do dig into the hull if...
Great work man. I aspire to have the knowledge you do. It took me close to a year to get a simple piston port 550 looking nice and running. This is another level. I told myself I wasn't gonna do another 550 but a 701 swapped 550 is looking really tempting.
I've got jb weld for now. Unfortunately I'll be at the lake for a week so I can tap a new fitting in the whole but I imagine that's the correct way to fix this? Any better solutions?
This makes sense why my ski was loosing prime.
I have a 62t wave raider and I have deleted the oil pump. My instinct says I'm going to have to reset the high speed jets right? Anyone else have a bone stock raider with the carbs rejetted for oil delete.
Thank you. Runs like a top. Final jet settings are the 110 pilot jet with about an 1/4 turn out on low speed. Needle and seat is 2.0 with an 85 gram spring. The 125 main seems to be doing well also with a full turn out, although, i having been holding it wide open. I want to get a tank through...
Before I left I let the Cylinders dry out. Hooked power back up. Fuel lines on but fuel filter is dry And on a whim I said f@#k it and pressed the green button.
Music to my ears.
Far from tuned but God damn it's snappy and responsive for the few seconds i let it go sing.
Will be on the beach...
Ya I know. If the balls coming, tee up and swing.
Also I started pulling the fuel in line off while cranking but I'm fairly certain the deed had been done at that point.
I'm out here in AZ now and was registering 3 different skis and I stopped by nasty nics motorsports (super nice guy who...
The hero Gotham deserves, but not the one we need.
Havint don't anything yet to engine. I likely flooded the engine like crazy trying to start it prior. Anyway it's gonna go with me, whether or not it's gonna be a river ornament or a running ski is gonna be if I can figure it out while I'm put...
After makingnm some calls someone has made the suggestion that even though I could be getting spark the ground wire on the stop switch might grounding out. Was told to unhook. Will try
exhaust pipe was splashing with unburnt fuel. the base gasket was also wet. iv seen people use a little of 1211 on the base gasket but im assuming that a recipe for disaster or a Band-Aid on something that needs stiches. im not throwing in the towel just yet but tomorrow is my last day before i...
Okay so thier was a piece of tape stuck in the exhaust from the painter. That was fixed and it helped. Pistons orientated correctly. I've got 150 pounds of compression both Cylinders. I've got spark. Still no boom. This is what I've got right now.
