All I ever dream about is riding and building skis. I think if money was of no object that's what I would do. Problem is always money for me. This isn't really the easiest sport to maintain either. The know how on the maintance side of things is the other half.
That being said there are...
Anyone running a pfp on a 701? When I was having my tigercraft v3 hull made I was asked whether or not I wanted it made up for a pfp or b pipe. I asked for an opinion and he seemed to believe that the pfp pipe on a JM 62t/61x was a better option.
Curious if anyone here has an experience or data...
Again I'd stick with WFO's advice.
Buy a jet size up and below of his recommended settings (maybe 10 bucks worth of jets.)
2.0 needle seat 20psi pop off
Start half turn out both top and bottom screw.
Also what Watcon is saying is true to an extent. You should go through your system if you...
hard to tell without actually riding the boat. if you have a 100 or so bucks squirreled away for a rainy day id suggest buying a couple sized lower and higher of your current jet settings, along with every spring available and needle and seat available.
thats just what iv done. that way the...
ya, i mean a wrong jet is a wrong jet. either it runs right or it doesnt.
idk how much you know about tuning carbs but i highly suggest this thread.

first id like to be the first one to say it as it was so wisely said to me on my 550 project so here it is... "its not to late to give that ski back".
second i have thread thats kinda all over the place but sounds like a similar setup when it comes to tuning the carb on your ski
here is the...
I second that. Alot of ignorant people.
That said I did ride a new superjet and It was cool to ride, enough to where I would consider getting one at a decent price but definitely not before the V3 is built.
I think personally it would be nice to relax a little bit on longer rides buts also...
Iv heard of guys buying the Arizona tea 1 gallon bottles for a reserve stuffed in a backsack. I imagine in that backsack, is included with a spare set of plugs and maybe some zipties and ducktape, maybe even some jb weld if ish gets real. I feel like if your riding in the surf your already on...
big thanks to @WFO Speedracer terry for he gave me some very good advice and direction to follow to see the project though, and thanks to everyone else for helping out where they can. my chick took some videos of my just messing around. here is the final product. its fun, its a 550. cant wait...
I was thinking when building this ski, ehh if I like the boat maybe I'll race the stock 550 class. My gut, forearm pump and tired body says it's not worth it bro. Hats off to the 550 riders. Different animal. I rode an fx1 all my life and even that didn't beat me up as bad as this 550.
So after getting beat up by my 550 all week. I'm no longer considering doing anything more with 550 hulls. I'm so fat and out of shape it's a damn chore just getting the boat out of the water and keeping it straight. Fun little boats but under no circumstances am i taking the thing for a long...
Haha bro I just finished my first 550 rebuild top to bottom painted and everything. Was it amazing? No it's a 550. But damn she looks sexy and I learned so much that is not replaceable. I would actual suggest someone do up a 550 for there first project granted when they buy it, it has potential...
