If you learn to ride a 550 then you can ride anything
they are 2-3 times cheaper than yamaha and parts are cheaper
yes they are less reliable but its a good foundation to learn how to wrench on your skis...

John I got my pump from a member here that ran it 3 seasons with out issues
I will be installing new OEM bearings and seals
ok nice were getting somewere now
pack grease every where
seal with the spring closer to vanes with spring facing prop
metal seal closer to prop with open side facing prop
so is marine grease what everyone is using??
does it matter what way the bearing letters are??

so metal one installed first with open end facing prop
then the one with the spring installed second with the spring facing the prop
the second one with the spring will end up being closer to the prop
