I have to agree, an xfr with a 1050 dasa, B pipe, does not flatwater flip with ease. I would still shorten it, if it were mine though, it will make flipping behind a boat a lot easier.

I had a blast out there, It was my first Pismo trip and first time riding west coast surf! Everyone was super nice, even the Buzzard! It is very cool to be able to ride with some of the best riders out there, and shake hands with guys that I admire so much!

Yes I have seen many different spring setups with the plates, I still would prefer a standard style bracket! Anyone else? does an RRP fit?

Not crazy about the pinch bolts, it would also make running a spring easier, bolting the plates on with a pole and pole bolt does not seem easy! It was difficult enough just bolting in the plates, no room for washers on the top ones.

Wondering if anyone has used a standard style bracket on a badass,, instead of the plates. I have one plate the hole is wollered out, so I have to keep retightening it or it has slop. I run an xmetal pole, if anyone knows of a bracket that fits without too much grief, thanks for any advice.

As long as you aren't trying to do flatwater flips, I am proof that you can do a lot, and have a load of fun, on a boat with mainly used parts bought here on the X. It is really is all about the hull and a capable motor. I roll and flip in small surf and on boat wake for well under 10k.

I don"t remember an EME being there. There were rumors of a chan and footrocket being there, never showed. The skis flipping were Paul xfr, Mark on the BOB, Murph and I on freaks obviously.

I call that move the Rag Doll, Yea I got lucky! I hanked a bit to hard on the bars I guess. I was waiting for the ski to land on me but luckily it did not.

That wave report is frustrating!

I think that was a standard superjet length pole, I know riding surf stance saves my back, rather than riding in the footholds. Footholds are for flips and rolls that's it for me.
