I know your excited to get the molds and bouncing ideas around to make some cash at it. Wait untill u get the molds to make a few skis for u and close friends, track every hour worked and every cent spent o materials, after you make a few skis you will get the layup right for the hull and...
It is the chemicals still stuck in the mold are released as the part cures, Tooling gel coat is usually better for releasing a part because of heat and chemicals in the mold, I usually just do like 2layers of chop mat for the first part to draw out the chemicals. Looks great tho man keep up...
The first part out of the mold is always a pain!! be ready to rip on that thing for a while, as it gets used more, it seasons the mold and is much easier release parts from the mold.
Run a water box for sure will help against water intrusion and keep the noise down! Had a 750 without water box it sounded awesome to me but was very loud to others, could hear me clear across the lake. I think a water box would be much easier than two inline silencers....
Bought a prop from Justin, his tool broke so he could not get it off right away he offered to clean it up for me due to the lag in shipping it out, part came in when he said it would and went above and beyond for me, I would highly recommend as a seller!!
Thanks again Justin
Stainless Steel Tubing!! If you have a pipe supplier near you they should have something for you. 3/8" Dia. for cooling 1/2" Dia. for trim tube, I would run for dual cooling and trim while your in there.
Cooling Lines 3/8" stainless, Trim tube 1/2 "Stainless (Some aftermarket trim cables use a larger stud that will no go through a 3/8" tube)
Use filler on the inside of the hull and 5200 on the outside
it still costs a good amount of cash, even if you have molds the material to make one is more than you think, getting it right and aligning the pump firewall mid shaft and engine must be done right. if not you just wasted all your time and money.
Cutting up a hull and widening it can add alot...
your pipe should not be hot, it should be warm to the touch.
I think this could have a similar effect as turning the adjustment screws
I know people wrap them with fiber glass and carbon this could insulate the pipe as well
