The protec will hit the ride plate too. Tom21 made me a custom plate with a slight recess to clear the pump with no shims. You can also grind a JD plate to fit, but I didn't like the JD feel.
Is it the very bottom hole that doesn't have a adjustment screw? If so, most people fill this hole as it lets too much water into the pipe. So it may be clogged with JB weld
I ride solo most of the time as well, live on water in MD. In Michigan I had several friends on the same lake (Cass) and we rode most days. You could always find someone out on the water on a standup...
I did meet some NJ guys I hope to run into at Corson's inlet later this summer, plan to...
If it were me, given how much you've spent on this ski and how important it is to get it right, I would road trip to PHP and ask them to set it up for you. They seem like great guys who'd help anyone, especially a customer.
Any auto store like Napa has it. They are thick and strong. Set the pipe up correctly and you don't need it. I learned this first hand, used the same silicone coupler for years after aligning the pipe and replacing O-rings each season.
Cheap reliable 2-stroke form of SN - YZ125. Agree. Loved mine. But it rides like an FX1 with a stock pump.
If you want a ride like the SN then I'd recommend a KTM 250 XCF(W). Stable, smooth, electric start, easy(er) to ride, track/trail ready stock.
