If it was designed to work on a 62t stator (which it is) then THAT IS THE ONLY STATOR YOU WANT TO USE WITH IT.
61x stators are physically smaller than 62t stators - smaller diameter inside the flywheel. So people mistakenly run a 62t flywhweel with a 61x stator... and it works.. sometimes. It...
I saw your post about Surf Slam and other events. The closest one to you is coming up in October at Pismo Beach (Oceano Dunes actually). It is just a freeride, not a comp. Lots of riders and skis there from beginners to pros. We come out from Colorado every year for it. It should be the...
A member here from Kansas, SKYWALKER found his sunk ski after a long search. If I remember right he finally hired a fishing boat with all the high power sonar/ high definition, side-scanning fish finders to go looking for it... and it worked! Do a search for his thread
EDIT: heres the thread...
Pictures don't do this ski justice! It is BEYOND clean and everything is done right. And I must say it RIPS! This was my first time on a Jetmaniac motor and I was very impressed. Bear in mind that we are at altitude above 4000'. Usually skis that come here from sea-level dont run for crap...
Regarding the comments above about glass superfreaks... There is still hope, I have spoken to Tem and he is still considering getting glass skis into production. He has specific molds for vinylester/glass laminating. He is getting lots of requests for glass skis still... who knows...
I split the one that sportfish258 ended up with. Both pieces were useable. The top deck I sold to another board member and he used it on a SN to RN conversion. So... YES, It can be done. Lots of heat and prybars are your friends. Thin cutting wheel around the bulkhead too. Good luck.
EDIT...
Totally normal. I live at 4700 ft. The 2 best things you can do are drop your impeller one pitch and decrease your dome size by 2cc (assuming you have a domed head like ADA or such). Carb tuning alone won't do much compared to compression and impeller.
Just a warning to all reading this:
I ordered a Caltric stator off ebay to try out (cheap fix for a friend). They listed it as a 62t stator and said it fits 1996-2012 superjets. BUT... I received a 61x stator - I know the difference. Wrote them a message and described the differences...
Yep it's the flat turf - no grooves, no diamonds, no waffle house... Just like they used to make it in the kits before footholds. Gasp! no footholds? How did we ever ride these sea scooters???
So I've been riding all summer with a patch-job for turf. No sides and an old bottom mat. Decided to fix that today...

So Matt, which length Xmetal pole is that (I understand they do different length adjustable poles now)? And is it all the way in or out there - or in between somewhere?
I'm torn on pole length on mine. It is definitely too long for flatwater now, but I think I would like it in the surf as-is...
Yes you can use the MSD brain box and coil from the 550. You will need a polaris-specific flywheel and trigger plate.
